MATT POV

My brother, Joey and I were headed back to the house with a bag of ice when it started to rain. We got there just in time to see Raven knock Leslie to the ground. We started running towards them as she stood and kissed him, sticking her tongue in his mouth. Joey got there before I did but Raven merely knocked him to the ground smirking. By the time I got over to them Leslie and Raven had already walked inside. She had gone with him not even twenty seconds after he had popped her in the jaw into my house. As I turned to my brother I saw the confirmation of my thoughts in his eyes. We were done putting up with this shit. Raven wasn't going to walk over us anymore. This time we'd stomp his ass, we just had to wait for our moment.

Fight Or Flight

"It's true you know. Demon's of power once controlled this town and they loved it until they were trapped in a mirror like Alice and the Looking Glass. " Nic's blue eyes glittered wildly and black hair was at a disarray around her head as she took a step closer to her audience. If she expected them to flinch away from her she was mistaken. Instead several of them laughed as they turned and walked away. One even muttered something about her being drunk. At those words her breathe seemed to stop as she took a step forward towards her fleeting audience. Her eyes raised upwards, a spell on her lips as her fists clenched and unclenched. No one heard the words that she muttered except me.

"May thy own truth be seen before the night is up." I was curious about what was up with my little sister but I decided to wait it out. Let the alcohol wear off a little maybe she'd enjoy herself a little. Besides I had my own problems and low and behold there he was. Raven, dancing, in my living room with a beautiful girl that I could NEVER HAVE.

"So you like her, huh?" I glanced out of the corner of my eye to see Joey slouched against the wall, a scowl on his face, as he stared at Raven. I started to play it cool but thought against, it this was my brother after all. Even if he was a major ass hat lately.

"Yea, it's everything about her. They way she talks to people like they matter, the way she walks, the way she...the way she is. Like I've met her before in some other place where we belonged together. But I can never have her. She's been marked...marked by Raven's hands and undoubtedly his lips too."

"That f@ck needs taking out and you know it." I gave him a look but he just shrugged and pushed himself off the wall, as he was walking off he paused. He turned back to look at me over his shoulder. "You know I got your back bro. Call me when your ready." I glanced back at Leslie to see that she had stopped dancing, her silver eyes swirling with some unnamed emotion. She was staring blankly at Raven as he spoke. Then they turned and headed for the kitchen. It was going to be a long night and I doubted any of it was going to be fun. Well, maybe the head bashing part. I watched as the swing door to the kitchen shut and after a moment I followed them unaware that I was headed for my own destiny.

LESLIE POV

"I have something to tell you Leslie and it involves your father. I know where he is." I was having fun dancing away all the thoughts that had crowded their way into my head and he had to say that. My father, the man who'd stolen me away from my life, who had given me four years of memories involving darkness. I'd made myself forget what had happened as a defense mechanism but I still had the nightmares every night that caused me to cry and scream out in terror. That man was gone from my life and now he was back. At that moment I wanted to run...run and never stop but my legs weren't listening. Instead of running I found myself turning and following Raven into the kitchen.

I leaned back against the counter my arms crossed against my chest as Raven continued with what he had been saying earlier.

"He works for my father. He's started over and he wants to see you Leslie. He wants you to come to him at my house, now." His eyes dove deep into mine and I could stare at nothing else. Even the surroundings of the bright colored kitchen faded away as I fell deeper into them. They were like a whirl pool willing me to say yes to say I would go now to see my father but yes was not what came out of my mouth. It seemed that whatever he was doing with those eyes of his didn't work anymore and suddenly I was overwhelmed with terror.
