It was a rainy Monday, and Namjoo was as per usual, the first one sitting in class. She absentmindedly looked through the window, observing the raindrops slithering their way onto the clear glass. A week-end had passed since her altercation with Soojin, and she grew worried for the other, because, when she replayed the events of that evening in her head –during her long sleepless nights– She noticed how different from usual Soojin was acting. She seemed of course angry, but also truly hurt, and she even thought she caught a glimpse of fear in her eyes. But the older always seemed so distant, full of pride. Or so she thought.

At this same instant, Soojin entered the almost empty classroom, disrupting the other's thoughts. She sat next to her, without a word. The silence was thick and unpleasant but none of them was determined to break it. Until the blonde sighed heavily and nervously bit her lip, looking left and right to confirm that they were alone, then spoke:

«I'm sorry.» She said, looking away.

Namjoo's mouth fell agape. «I beg you pardon?» She absolutely heard that, I mean, dog hearing you know. But she was gaslighting herself into thinking her ears tricked her.

Soojin rolled her eyes. «I said... I'm sorry, about what I said Friday.» she sighed again. «You were right, I was indeed acting like a dick.»

The younger gasped. «Am I dreaming or something? Because I think Kim Soojin is apologising to me!»

«Ugh shut up or I'll take it back!» she blushed.

Namjoo laughed and playfully hit her shoulder. «It's all right, you looked like you were having a hard day and I didn't help making it better... But I'm touched you came to apologise.» She smiled, her dimples showing, which made the other smile too. A genuine smile was rare for the pair, and it felt refreshing.

The bell ringed and students started filling the seats.

Soojin spoke again, quieter this time. «So... About our class project... I thought about working at the uni's library, since hardly no one goes there, could be chill to work.»

«Good idea, I finish my classes at seven, meet me there when you finish.» She responded.

«Nice, I'll be there.»

Namjoo was really surprised by this newfound nice side of Soojin, she could get used to that.

The rest of the day went well, uneventful, with few noticeable things, except from the fact that Jimin was nowhere to be found. After her classes, Namjoo joined Soojin in the library, the company was usually scarce in here, and today was no different, she spotted her easily and joined her table. They started working right away, exchanging little words. During their work, Namjoo found her eyes wandering on her classmate, noticing things that seemed out of character. Her nails were strange, not as in ugly or something but more like, out of ordinary, in Soojin standards. She was wearing new acrylics, and the change was pretty noticeable, as they were burgundy red, normally she wore lighter tones, it was odd.

Is that blood underneath??

Something was wrong, terribly wrong, now that she took a good look at them, her hands looked bruised, but somehow... It was masked, by makeup, maybe.

«If you keep staring and not working Imma take that first place in class' ranking back you know.» The blonde stated mockingly. «You have a hand kink or something?» She smirked.
