Element?

~Alaine's POV~

We walked out into a large stone hallway, it looked as if it had been carved out of a large cave. One of the men escorting us lifted their hand and candles along the hallway started to light up. I stared in wonder at the Man who had just somehow lit all the candles without even touching them.

"How did he do that?!", I whispered to Talen.

"You'll find out soon", he replied without even a glance in my direction.

I frowned in confusion and kept silent the rest of the walk. As we stepped through a large archway I grasped Talen's hand, he squeezed mine back to comfort me. Inside the room there was a giant white marble pillar that reached half way to the high ceiling. there were five circular crystals at the top in the side of it, each the size of a dinner plate with engravings curling down to the bottom of the pillar. Kneeling around the pillar were five cloaked figures each wearing a different coloured cloaks, red, blue, violet, green, and white.

The two men each came up and grabbed both my arms and dragged me away from Talen and past the cloaked figures, over to marble pillar then tied me up. I was now kneeling on the ground my hands cuffed on the pillar in the same metal cuffs as earlier with my arms hanging apart, above my head. I looked over at Talen in confusion and fear receiving a calmed smile which calmed me down.

The figure with the white cloak in front of me suddenly stood up and started chanting, moving their arms about as if controlling something. Wind swept past me and around the pillar, making my hair shift to the side. It suddenly got stronger as if I was in the middle of a storm minus the rain and thunder. The wind sped up to the point where I couldn't breathe.

With all the wind blowing around me I barely noticed the figure with the green cloak stand up, start chanting and move their hands around in similar movements to the other cloaked figure. An earthy smell suddenly joined over with the wind and vines started to wrap themselves around me in a similar rhythm to the wind, pulling me side to side as if I was some play toy.

Fire then ignited from somewhere and engulfed me and the vines but not setting them alight, the wind strangely not putting out the flames. The flames didn't burn me just made it unbearably hot. I let out a choked noise as my throat started to burn up. the fire continuing to burn around me and the pillar.

I let out a relieved sigh as water started to swirl up around me, blending with the wind, vines and fire. Tendrils of water reached out swirling around my neck, and somehow the burning in my throat disappeared almost immediately.

The voices I heard in the room earlier started up again. Letting out a strangled sob I tried yanking my hands free from the cuffs, only to have the electric shocks go down my arms again. Then I suddenly felt strangely calm with everything happening around me, as if it was the most normal thing for wind, vines, fire, water and the voices to be swirling around me, pulling at me.

My head slumped then a blinding light entered my vision but I couldn't control anything of my body. I just stared straight into it as it kept getting brighter until I could no longer see properly. I suddenly felt lightheaded and I slumped back onto the pillar, my head snapping up to face the crystals in the side of the pillar as a strange power filled my numbed body I broke free from the restraints holding me back then in a split second it was like all the strength was sucked out of me and I collapsed to the floor. Everything seemed to slow down and right before my eyes shut I saw Talen's face hovering over mine in a panicked expression then my head dropped and everything faded away to the darkness surrounding me.

~Talen's POV~

I winced as Alaine was taken over to the pillar, I desperately wanted to walk over and comfort Alaine but I knew that it would be better not to interfere as we had to find out what her element was in order to begin her training as a newly turned vampire, the same happened to me in order to find out my element of Fire.

I was curious as to what her element was. Her earlier episode when we went to get her is quite common among those who control the element of spirit. I had a very different time first experiencing my fire element gifts. I had gotten them under control over the time that Alaine had been in transition, she had been the last of us to awake. she had been in transition for almost a month after all the others in our group had awoken.

I glanced over to Alaine and she looked at peace and was moving as if she was joined to the elements swirling around her. Then suddenly the elements stopped and her face went as white as snow and she started to sway and then collapsed back against the marble pillar. her head suddenly snapped up towards the ceiling, her eyes completely white and glowed brightly. We all had to shield our eyes as the glowing brightened then it all stopped abruptly.

"Alaine!", I exclaimed as she broke out of the cuffs and ran over to her. Quickly lifting her head into my lap I shook her slightly, screaming her name as she passed out. I picked her up and held her fragile body in my arms.

I then focused on what everyone was staring at. My eyes widened in shock as I noticed that every single one of the crystals were glowing, it had never been heard of. I looked back down at my best friend in my arms trying to think how something like this could even be possible. If the crystals are right then Alaine could control all the elements.

~A/N I am soooo sorry I left this so long I was just really busy with moving house and school but I have a few chapters done and I will upload load them shortly after this!! :D okay I was going to add more on this but I thought it would be better for later hehe everything should be explained then and there will be less elemental stuff later on I just want to get this all cleared up and out of the way first :3

And just so you know their elements are described in the character list and description that I should be adding soon (after I've finished it). There are some disadvantages to Alaine's control of the elements that you will find out later. Aidan and Lance were the men who escorted her to the room and also tied her up. They'll be in the story more later, aaaaand Lillian didn't disappear completely haha I'll explain what happened to soon. oh and I am also trying to make the chapters longer J
