~Alaine's POV~
I woke up with a gasp studying my surroundings, I was in the same room that I had heard the voices. I sat up immediately my hand flying up to my throat as it burned like nothing I'd ever felt before. I scrambled out of the bed and over to the door yanking it open, I threw myself out of the room. My throat still in agony as I coughed, which only made the burning worse. A girl walked past and all I could focus on was the pulsing vein in her neck and for some reason my first instinct was to rip her throat out to get to the vein. Giving into what my instincts were telling me to do I launched myself at the girl only to be blocked by a man who ran back into my room with unnatural speed and held me close until I had stopped thrashing around.
"You good now?" the man I now recognized as Talen whispered into my ear, sending tingles down my neck.
"Um y-yeah I think so" I gulped, looking up at his face.
"Good" he said softly smiling at me.
After a long silence between us Talen softly brushed away the hair that had fallen in front of my eyes. I blinked a few times at the gesture and went to open my mouth but before I could say anything his hand cupped the side of my face tilting my head up then he leaned down, his breath washing over my face for a split second before his lips met mine.
After what seemed like hours we broke away from the kiss. My eyes slowly opened, gazing up into his own in surprise. Again, before I could say anything he pulled me closer and kissed me again this time with more intensity. He then deepened the kiss as he placed his hands on my waist, and pulled me onto his lap as he sat on the bed, my hands resting on his chest. Wrapping his arms around me tighter so that there was little to no space between us. Eventually we both pulled away from the kiss breathless as we stared into each others eyes. my cheeks grew warm and I looked down to his chest as I realised what we had just done. His hand reached up to chin and lifter my head up to face him.
"You don't know how long I've wanted to do that for Alaine" he said kissing my nose.
"How long?" I asked, scrunching up my nose from the kiss.
"Since I was 14" he breathed
"Well do you know how long I've wanted to do that for?" I challenged, his eyes widening at my words, "Since the first day of high school"
"I thought you didn't like me" he said laughing in realisation, his thumb brushing over my flushed cheeks.
"I've always liked you, you just never had eyes for me...well at least it seemed that way. I was almost certain that you had eyes for Lillian the way you two always carried on" I whispered blushing even more my face was probably bright red.
"I've only ever had eyes for you Alaine, no other girl would do. Why do you think I never dated anyone? I was waiting for you and now I finally have you" he said pulling me into a hug, smiling dreamily against my neck.
I grinned, "Yeah you do."
I leant up and kissed him again, my hands moving from his chest onto his shoulder and behind his neck. He kissed back with more intensity his hands going to my waist as he pulled me closer. I then pushed him down onto the bed, and crawled on top of him then started to kiss his down jaw lingering at his neck. I held my throat and winced as the burning in my throat suddenly returned fiercer than ever.
