~Alaine's POV~
The door opened and one of the two men walked in raising his eyebrows at me straddling Talen's lap. My cheeks grew warm and I buried my head into Talen's chest, hiding away from the man.
"Did I walk in on something?" the man questioned, humour in his voice.
Talen picked me up, placed me on the bed beside him and stood up, "N-no Lance, I was just filling in Alaine with everything and helping her understand it all" he answered a light blush covering his cheeks.
"Sure mate, sure. Anyways Isabella wants to start her training now, she wants you there to help her seeing as you know the girl from your human life" he informed and started walking out of the door gain, signalling us to follow.
"Training?" I whispered to Talen.
"Yeah just how to control and accept all the changes that have happened to your body, every fledgling goes through it" Talen reassured me.
"Oh are there going to be other's there as well?" I wondered.
"Um no, in our group you woke up a month after we all woke up, we were worried you wouldn't pull through" he said scrunching his eyebrows together, "but as Lance said I will be there to help you" he quickly added, flashing me a smile.
We walked through the stone hallway again but instead of going to the large room we ended up outside in a large field with weapon and armour racks lining the wall to the right. In the middle was the lady from before, Isabella. She signalled us to go to her with a wave of her hand, as we got closer I smelt something impossibly sweet and alluring. Sniffing the air I closed my eyes and took deep breath in. I opened my eyes again to see Isabella holding an open bottle filled with a red liquid. Everything seemed to zone out of focus and all I could do was stare transfixed at the bottle.
The burning in my throat started back up again and a strange warmth in the back of my eyes. I turned myself around, my back towards Isabella and ceased breathing to stop myself from smelling the aroma wafting from the bottle that she had opened.
"Whatever that stuff is put it away, it hurts my throat" I hissed at her, clutching my neck tentatively.
"Its blood, and you've just passed the first test. Usually fledglings turn savage and uncontrollable to get their hands on the blood, you are one of the only ones to show self control to that extent" she said simply placing the lid back on the bottle and storing it in her backpack, "You must also feel an uncomfortable warmth in your eyes correct?"
I nodded and Isabella brought out a small hand held mirror and put it up to my face where I saw that my eyes were silver in colour, "What? H-how is that possible?" I said under my breath.
"How? Well the silver is unique to our...i guess we could be called a clan, I will get into that more later on but for now that's all you need to know. As to why? Well don't worry they won't stay that way but as a vampire when you experience bloodlust or when you use your element your eyes will naturally change to this silver and when you are not experiencing either your eye colour will be the colour you were born with."
