Willa's P.O.V.

Just another uneventful day like always, I thought. Nothing ever happens. I wake up, get dressed, go to school, and do my after school activities. Later, I come home, eat dinner, and go to bed. It feels like the most boring day on earth is on repeat and I'm the unlucky soul that had to endure it. With thoughts like this I should become a poet. It's not like I'm not already signed up for all the school activities! Note the sarcasm there. My parents think that life should be exactly this. On school days I do what I said earlier, on Saturdays I do volunteer work, and on Sundays I go to church. My life is too normal. That's where friends come in handy.

Today is Monday and thankfully all after school activities got canceled. Don't ask me why 'cause I don't know. What I do know is that my mom is allowing me to go to Misty's after school! Misty is my best friend and I tell her everything. Just recently she told me that she was gay. I was shocked, but Misty is still Misty. This upset my other friend Kingston though. Kingston has had a crush on Misty since the 8th grade, and we're halfway through 11th grade now! I feel bad for the poor guy, he really liked her. She told us at the beginning of this grade that she was a lesbian. Now, all Kingston and Misty do is fight over girls! I laugh at them when they do because they do it in such a funny matter. Kingston always uses his baby voice and puppy face during an argument and Misty will just beat the shit out of you if she doesn't get what she wants. There such opposites that they're still the best of friends, though.

When I got to Misty's, she and Kingston were already failing at karaoke. They didn't know I was there until I started laughing when Kingston tried to hit a high note and his voice wouldn't allow him. Misty turned to me and engulfed me into a hug. As soon as she let go of me Kingston hugged me.

"You guys are gonna kill me." I told them. They just laughed, causing me to laugh too. Suddenly, we heard a door slam.

"Mom's home." Misty said. Misty has a single mother who works hard to support herself and Misty. It's sad how much she works for a job she hates so much.

"Misty!" Ms. Anthony called.

"In my room, mom." Misty called back. Ms. Anthony appeared in the doorway and she looked surprised to see Kingston and me.

"Sorry, didn't know you had friends over." She said.

"Mom, it's just Kingston and Willa." Misty said.

"Alright. I think I'll make spaghetti tonight, you guys staying?" she asked Kingston and I.

"I will." Kingston said.

"I'll have to ask my mom." I told her.

"Ok, tell me what she says." Ms. Anthony said and began to walk to the kitchen.

I pulled out my new IPhone and called my mom. "Hey, mom?" I asked.

"What?"

"Can I stay for dinner at Misty's?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Pretty, pretty please? I'll be home before ten anyways."

"Fine."

I grinned. "Thank you!"

I turned to see Kingston and Misty grinning too.

We all laughed a bit and then started to play karaoke. I, of course, won. Mainly because Misty and Kingston are totally tone deaf. They've never been good singers, but that's what makes karaoke fun! After that we played many card games, talked, and finally decided to play truth or dare.

"Okay, Misty, truth or dare?" I asked.

"Dare."

"Call up any girl from school and ask her out."

She pulled out her phone and started calling someone. Suddenly my phone began to ring. I answered it and said "Misty!"

She began to laugh at her oh so hilarious joke. "Will you go out with me?" she asked.

"No." I told her, struggling not to laugh. She looked a little said that I declined but I ignored it.

"Okay, Kingston, truth or dare?" She asked.

"Truth."

"How long did you like me?"

"How'd you know that?"

"It was obvious."

He blushed and mumble "Since 8th grade."

"Aww. Sorry Hun didn't choose to be gay."

"Whatever. Willa, truth or dare?" he asked.

"Dare."

"I dare you...too...go outside and kiss the first person you see."

"Fine." I grumbled. We all walked outside and the first person I saw was this beautiful girl that looked to be our age. She was absolutely gorgeous; it's too bad I have to kiss her then leave. I walked over to her and said "Hi."

"Hi?" she said questioningly.

I whispered in her ear "I'm sorry, my dumbass friend is making me do this." Before she could ask what I cupped her cheeks and kissed her. I turned and walked away, leaving that beautiful blushing girl behind. What am I saying? I'm talking about her as if I like her. But, to be honest, I kind of do. What's happening?
