George woke up sore from the beating he received prior. He snuggled closer to Dream.
He rubbed his back. "How are you feeling, George?" Dream asked not for the answer but to start a conversation to possibly distract George from the pain.
George shook his head. "Hurts..."
Dream sighed, kissing his forehead. The pain would get worse before it will get better. When he was raped, he received no kind of medication, and he was expecting the same treatment for George. All he could do was comfort him and make sure he was comfortable and well taken care of until he could take care of himself.
George quickly grew quiet, only letting out painful breaths. Dream could only guess he was asleep and that his body was trying to heal.
Dream never left his side. He never planned on leaving George's side again despite how the other patients and staff would react.
It'd be worth it to keep him safe.
-
The days went on. Dream helped George the whole time, making sure he was clean and had fresh clothes. They both laid in Dream's bed, leaving the other untouched. They could care less how many rules they were breaking.
The door unlocked before being opened. Dream slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake up George.
Luckily, it was just Bad who was coming to visit. He looked over at George's untouched bed, then Dream's. "Isn't that not allowed? Staying in the—"
"Shut it," Dream snapped, stopping him in his tracks.
Bad didn't bring it up again. "They want y'all to go to the main area with the others. To go back to the meetings."
"Whatever. But George is staying with me," Dream hissed, bearing his teeth.
Bad nodded his head. He knew better then to challenge Dream who looked as if he was going to tear out his eyes.
Dream made his way over to George, shaking him slightly. He woke up with a start, glancing around the room in a panic before finding Dream and calming down. He reached out for him, and he wrapped his hands around his waist. George hid behind Dream.
"I'll give y'all a few minutes." Bad left the room, leaving George and Dream alone.
He turned to George. "They want us to go back to the main area. Are you able to walk?"
George stared at Dream, blinking sleepily for a few minutes before coming out of the daze. "I can try..." he said, his voice shaky.
George sat up, groaning in pain. He grabbed onto Dream's arm, getting up and stumbled before he caught him.
"It hurts..." George whispered, his mouth curling into a frown.
Dream rubbed his back. "I know. It will get better, I promise."
George wrapped his arms around Dream, being pulled into his chest. Dream smiled, hugging him back, nestling his face in the top of his head.
The two broke up from the door opening, shooting their gazes at the door to a nervous Bad.
"They really want y'all in the main area." Bad picked at his nails.
Dream nodded, keeping his hands on George's waist to keep him steady.
They followed Bad outside, then into the main building. Everyone stopped what they were doing, showing looks of shock, confusion, and jealousy. Dream ignored the looks, helping George over to a couch. He waited for Bad to walk away before helping George lay down on the couch.
George kept his eyes on Dream as he slipped in next to him, letting his head rest on his chest. He could hear his heartbeat; he was calm, handling the weird looks from the other members. They were breaking so many rules and seemed to be getting away with it.
Dream noticed Sapnap approaching him and sat up.
"What the hell happened?" he asked, shock glittering in his gaze. "Why is George limping? Why are you letting him lay with you? How are you getting away with it?"
George turned his head away from Sapnap, too tired to deal with him.
"It's a long story. If you would stop screaming I could explain." Dream rolled his eyes, annoyed that Sapnap was talking loudly, grabbing the attention and placing it on them.
"Sorry." Sapnap frowned. George turned his whole body away from Sapnap and the conversation that was about to begin.
Dream let out a sigh, noticing his distaste to explaining the situation.
Maybe it's too soon.
"Actually, I'll tell you another time." Dream gave him a weak smile. Sapnap raised his eyebrow at George, looking away.
Upset over the secret, Sapnap said, "Okay," and left.
Dream tried to find Karl but couldn't. "George, did you see Karl anywhere?"
He turned towards him for a second, shaking his head. He could tell George was dozing off, still weak. Dream didn't ask anymore questions.
The two were started by a bang on the table in front of them. Dream turned towards the sound, his eyes narrowed.
Dave.
Dream jumped up, blocking George who sat up in reaction.
"Leave right now, or I'll bang your head against the wall until it shatters!" Dream hissed.
Dave froze, deciding what to do.
Dream didn't allow him to think, approaching him and getting in his face. "Back the fuck off!"
Dave didn't approach any further. "Calm down. I'm just following orders. Gibson wants you to separate, to follow the rules."
Dream approached him, causing him to back away. "Were you following orders when you let that freak get on top of George?" He scoffed and shoved him back. "I don't give a shit about what Gibson wants! He has no power here."
The slightest smirk tugged at Dave's mouth. "I can always drag you to the isolation room where you won't be able to even see him."
George got up stumbling. "It's okay Dream. I'll be okay, we can hang out back in the cabin." George gave him a weak smile wincing in pain.
Dream's face softened. "No, George. I need to protect you."
"You can, just from afar," George said, his voice low and hurt.
"It's your choice." Dave shrugged.
"Please, do this for me. I can't stand you getting hurt too," George murmured, looking away.
Dream wanted to turn his head towards him, but Dave was throwing daggers knowing exactly what he wanted to do.
"If you think so," Dream sighed.
"Yes, I do." George gave him a weak smile, stumbling against the wall. George was hurting and standing was not helping.
"Just lay down, I'll be watching you." Dream frowned. Dream gave one last threatening gaze before he walked away, keeping George in the corner of his eye. Dave followed him, leaving George to himself.
George struggled getting onto the couch. Once on, he laid his head on the arm rest.
George couldn't fight the fear of being without Dream...
