Chapter 3

Asher’s Point of View

When I arrived at the airport, I receive a message from Amber I hilariously laughed at what she texted, from the name herself Amber  considered as a precious as jewel and Naomi meaning pleasant and delightful, she deserves to be treated right. I don’t have any intention of leaving or cheating on her. Talking about girls during my school days, I probably can’t dent that I flirted and dated a bunch of them back then, but Amber was the only girl that I introduce to my parents.

Beautiful, talented, family oriented, loving, and caring all the good qualities that a man could find when looking for a wife. That is why when I got an opportunity to propose to her, I immediately grab it. Being away from him for a week is very hard for me, but because dad’s company had a problem abroad. I needed to leave my mom and dad are both entrepreneur they own some big companies around Asia but when they got married my mom decided to pursue her dream to become an environmentalist.

When the plane landed, I directly headed out of the airport. I saw a familiar face located in the parking lot, when I took another look, it was Ian, my cousin, his family decided to live here in Singapore due to some reason.

When he saw me he raise his left arm and waved at me and walked towards my direction, helped me carry my luggage and immediately put it inside the compartment of the car.

I use to study here before n Singapore when I was in elementary, but because dad own’s a company in the Philippines I decided to stay with them and continue my studies there.

At that time Mm was the one who handling the company, later on when I reach an older age dad let me handle it, growing up for me has always been easy because I can easily get what I want with the full support of my parents.

The car finally stopped, and I headed straight to Dad’s office. When I open the door, he was sitting on his swivel chair of his main table waiting for me.me.

“How was the trip?” He asked while adjusting the sleeve of his polo. I just took a deep breath before sitting in the chair across him.

“These Papers shows that the company has been missing big amount of money since last month.” He said while handing out some files to me.

“Big amounts of money? How could this happen?” I open he files and analyze the reports inside, only to find out that Dad is telling the truth.

I immediately called the secretary and told him to hold an urgent meeting tomorrow, together with the finance team. I stayed inside of his office for a while before I decided to live. While I was waiting for the elevator to open, suddenly I heard someone called me from behind. I knew it was a woman’s voice and it was very familiar to me. When I turned around I was very surprised and suddenly my heart beats very fast and I can’t explain what I feel.

“How are you?” She asked me and walked the distance between us, the closer she got to me, the faster my heart beat.

“I’m okay, how about you? I forced myself not to shutter in front of her.

“I’m doing good, but.” She just looked at the glass wall next to the elevator as if she remembered something.

“Like I said, I’m fine, but I just want to tell you that it’s still very painful for me.” Her tears started to flow, while pointing his heart.

“I’m sorry, if I could just go back to how it was before I would correct all my mistakes. I just bowed down because I couldn’t bear to see her cry. Suddenly the elevator opened.

“Let’s talk at a restaurant near here.” I said before entering, I was about to step inside when I suddenly received a message from Elaine, Amber’s friend. While reading that I almost dropped my phone as if cold water had need poured on me.

“This can’t be.”
