Chapter 1

Amber’s Point of View

     I am here now at my cubicle inside the office waiting for Asher, because he said he will pick me up. It’s almost dark and some of the employees are going home. I waited for almost one hour but he doesn’t come.

     So, I just put my things together before turning off the light and leaving the office. I called our family driver to pick me up. I didn’t bother Asher anymore because I know that he is busy, he has always pile of works in the office, he just doesn’t want to tell me.

      While waiting for the driver I just sat watchfully at the bench outside the company, when I suddenly fell my chest tighten again and some sudden unexplainable pain in my body, I’ve been feeling it a lot these fast few days, but I just don’t pay attention, because it might be brought by my fatigue and stress at work.

I want to go for a checkup but I don’t have enough time. Because there is a lot of office works that I needed to be done, maybe when my schedule is not that hectic anymore, I’ll go and pay a visit.

      Few minutes later and the car finally arrived, I got in and ask the driver to drop me off to Asher’s office, visiting him has been my hobby. I just stopped by one of Asher’s favorite, restaurant to buy our dinner. I was about to step out of the car to head to the counter when I saw it in crowded inside so we decided to go to the drive thru.

Finally got the order we want and head back to again to Asher’s office. The sound that was playing inside my ear really match the scenario when I and Asher first met, it was the first day of school on the month of August and as I remember we we’re in college that time, the funny things is that he caught my attention in a silly way, the way he’s showing everybody that he is a chick boy by setting me as one of those girl’s out there who acts crazy whenever he crosses the hall way.

That thing goes on and on until he decided to confess his feelings for me, decided to court me for more than nine months until I decided to accept his love. We graduated together, got the job we wanted.

And finally the time he decided to introduce me to  his parents, got the love and support from our that  we both want and be legal both sides. We’ve been together for years God knows how much I love that man despite of his imperfections. And I don’t have a plan to ruin our relationship.

We are also deciding when to get married.

As soon as the music stoped we finally arrive at the entrance of the company. My heart is fluttering, and I’m ready to give him a very tight hug. So, I pick up my things at the seat, and took a deep breath before stepping out of the car. As soon as I step out of the car, I texted him that I already arrive. I told my driver to wait for me, we had John with us our oldest family driver since I was elementary. My family trust him due to this bond.

“Manong John can you please wait for me here. I’ll be back after five hours.” My hand covering my mouth ready to burst a loud laugh, Manong Jhon looked at me, my laugh finally burst out.

“Just kidding, I’ll be back as soon as I finish dealing with my husband.” He just smiled at me and get back to the driver seat. I walked all the way to Asher’s office. Upon reaching the door I saw Asher busy scanning some papers while wearing his eyeglasses and he look so handsome wearing it. That glasses, is my gift to him on his 25th birthday.

He was so busy that he didn’t even notice me opening the door. When I got inside, I put my things and food on the table and it’s the only moment I got his attention. He immediately stood up and opened his hands as if saying that he wanted to hug me so I walked closer to him and hugged him very tightly.

“I’m sorry I didn’t pick you up, it’s just that there are so many papers that are needed to be signed and checked.” He explained, I know that he is tired because of the way his voice sounds.

“Don’t worry I understand I just miss you that’s why I came here.” He just stroked my hair and kisses me on my forehead. He unreleased his hand from the hug and remove his glasses before assisting me to sit on the chair.

“Look what I’ve got.” I said while looking at him with a smiling face, I was so disappointed because he ignored me, so I just focused my attention on preparing the food.
I was shock when suddenly he handed me a bouquet of fresh red roses.

“Thank you.” I took it and smelled it for a while before placing it next to my things. We started eating while talking about the events that happened to us today.
