As I gaze at him, I'm overwhelmed with both shock and pain. How could he do this to me, his mate? "Please don't do this," I plead, "I'll become a warrior. Just don't reject me." But he shakes his head and tells me, "You're not what I want. You're only 15, still just a kid." Desperate, I shake my head and promise to grow up quickly, but he only glares at me with anger in his eyes. "I told you, I don't want or need you," he shouts. "You're just a servant who comes with the king. I can't be seen as your mate.

As the elevator doors opened, a flawless-looking brunette in a slick robe walked in. Both he and I turned to look at her as she asked, "Honey, what's going on?" My eyes were puffy from crying, and I couldn't help but feel that he was rejecting me for her. He replied, "Nothing," but she didn't seem convinced. She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him, and my heart felt like it was being torn into little pieces. "Are you okay?" she asked softly, referring to me. She responded defensively, "Sorry, my mate has this thing about being rude to other people for no reason." She had called him her mate, and that only made things worse for me. Without saying a word, I ran to the elevator and pressed the button to escape. The doors closed, and I leaned against the wall, feeling defeated.

As a surge of sadness coursed through my body, the door to the main lounge opened and the pack members turned to see me crying. Without a word, I ran out into the pouring rain, unsure of where to go. I had been rejected for another woman and the pain was unbearable. Collapsing to my knees, I wept harder than I ever had before, feeling like I no longer belonged in this world. Looking up at the dark, rainy sky, I knew that I could never compare to the older, mature, tall, and flawless woman who had taken my place as his companion. I was his true mate, just a 15-year-old girl with acne and glasses.

I heard Jessie's and Kyle's loud yell, but I couldn't respond. My throat was sore, or maybe I chose to close my eyes and welcome death. Rain flooded around me, and I thought I could smell Jessie. I begged not to be found, I didn't want to return to the pack house. Suddenly, Jessie gasped and knelt beside me, placing her hands on my face. I slowly opened my eyes, and there was Jessie, worried and concerned. Stuttering, I told her that my mate had rejected me, and suddenly, my surroundings turned cold. Jessie suggested that we take me inside before I create a snowstorm. Kyle picked me up, and we headed towards the pack house. I was so embarrassed that I buried my face in his chest. As we rode the elevator to the royal floor, I heard whispers coming from everyone, and when the elevator doors opened, I heard my parents gasp in shock. They were angry and concerned, asking what had happened to me.

As I slowly drifted into a deep slumber, I could feel myself losing consciousness. When I woke up, I found myself in a dark room with gloomy skies and snow falling outside. Jessie entered my room and said, "We need to talk. I told your parents that you found your mate and he rejected you." Looking out of the window, I whispered, "Is telling them going to solve my problems? Snow is falling because I am heartbroken." Despite feeling sad, I found the snow to be beautiful. Jessie asked me what happened, and I began to tell her about how he rejected me as his mate and had another woman with him. "He is a total *******," she exclaimed, anger in her voice. I shook my head, relieved that he didn't know I was the Princess. "I want someone to love me for who I am, not for the power I hold," I said softly. Jessie hugged me and asked what I was going to tell my parents. After thinking for a moment, I decided to let it go and not tell them anything, knowing that my father would make sure he paid for rejecting me.

As I looked at my charm bracelet, Jessie caught my attention. "I'm going to help you become a great queen, Reyna," she said. "I can teach you how to properly dress and take care of it." I asked her if she was serious, and she nodded. I admitted to her that I wasn't the most well-dressed or hygienic person, but it was only because I was lazy. I knew I needed to work on myself, and I agreed to let Jessie help me.

As I sat by my window, my mother suddenly burst into my room, angry that I wasn't doing anything. My father looked like he was about to lose it too. I explained to them that I didn't want them to do anything about my mate, I just wanted to be left alone. My mother hugged me and told me that my mate didn't realize what he was missing. My father respected my decision but warned that if he ever found out who my mate was, he would "kick his ***". I giggled at my parents, but deep down, I just wanted to leave.

I didn't want anyone to feel sorry for me because I knew it wouldn't make my mate love and accept me. I couldn't understand why he would be with someone else if he knew he had a mate out there somewhere.

As anger began to surge through me, it felt like it was taking control of me. I couldn't seem to shake it off. Getting up from my bed, I grabbed the glass cup from my nightstand. Suddenly, thunder roared loudly. Without thinking, I hurled the glass of water to the ground, shattering it into pieces. "Why is he so selfish?!" I screamed in frustration, tears streaming down my face. My mom and dad looked at me in shock. "Reyna, stop!" my mother yelled. Looking down at the shattered glass, I started to feel regret. I couldn't control my emotions. "I'm so sorry," I quickly apologized, kneeling down to pick up the pieces of glass. Clenching the sharp pieces tightly in my hands, I hoped the pain would make me forget the heartbreak I was feeling. Blood started to drip onto the ground. My parents tried to take the glass pieces away from me, but I wasn't paying attention. I leaned against the wall, feeling numb. Jessie and Kyle rushed into the room in slow motion. "Why would my mate betray me like this?" I questioned in disbelief. "He was made for me and I for him." My mother shook me, trying to bring me back to reality. "Reyna, can you hear me?" my father asked. Looking at my mother, I noticed tears in her eyes. "This is not fair, what she's going through," she cried. "She's so young to be experiencing this pain. Can my baby girl be strong?" My bloody hands caught Jessie's attention, and she began to remove the glass pieces. Once she was finished, she cleaned and wrapped them up in bandages.

My dad hugged me and kissed my head, telling me to be strong. I nodded, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. As he hugged me, I shook my head and tears started to form in my eyes. I told my parents that they didn't understand what it felt like to be rejected at first sight. Despite always trying to be good to people, humble, and putting them before myself, I still felt this pain. I asked them to leave my room, promising I wouldn't hurt myself. They looked at me for a moment, questioning if I was really okay. After they left, I noticed the snow coming down harder, and the sky seemed gloomy, almost mirroring my emotions. Hearing giggling from outside my window, I saw my mate with a beautiful brunette, playfully throwing snowballs at each other. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her, and I couldn't help but feel envious of their love. She was natural and perfect, while I felt ugly and unnatural. I went back inside and asked my family, Jessie, Kyle, Violet, and other Council members, and our servants to leave with me. I pleaded with my parents to let us go, and my dad agreed without hesitation. We quickly packed our things and got the limo and plane ready to leave.

I started to do as I was told by my mother. I put on my leggings, long sleeve shirt, fluffy socks, warm boots, and scarf to keep warm in the cold, snowy weather outside. Wrapping my warm jacket around me, I put on my glasses and walked outside. I saw my mother and asked her if I could get out first without my mate knowing it was me or detecting my scent.

My mother gave me advice, telling me to run as fast as possible and cover my face so nobody could recognize me. I gave her a doubtful look since the limo was parked outside in front of the pack house. She continued, saying that once I got inside the limo, my mate could not enter or else the royal bodyguards would stop him. If only she knew that my mate was an alpha, but also if only he knew that I was to be his future queen.

I shook my head, wondering if he would still want me if he knew my title. But it didn't matter now. We would all join me in the limo soon, but first we had to take care of some things. I walked towards the elevator and pressed the button to go to the lounge. I covered half of my face with my scarf and as soon as the door opened, I saw the limo parked in front of the pack house, just like my mother said.

Without caring who looked my way, I ran towards the limo and quickly sat inside. A few minutes passed by until I saw my parents walking towards the limo. Everyone around them bowed their heads down. I saw my mate come up to my parents with his girlfriend, making me angry.

I facepalmed myself and snuck into my seat. Everyone got in, and my heart was beating a thousand beats per minute. As soon as the door closed, I let out a sigh of relief. "Alpha Calen is so kind towards us as well as his mate Luna Britney," said my dad, leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
