Preparing to be a Queen

I was told by Jessie to sit up straight in the grand dining room where we only have important dinners with the pack or other people. My parents decided that I should stay behind for healing, so Jessie and Kyle were tasked to train me to be a proper Princess while my parents visited the other packs in the werewolf world. I admitted to Jessie that I was used to slouching, but she suggested that I get up and try to get used to wearing high heels. After a wobbly start, I began to walk straight and felt a sense of accomplishment when Jessie complimented my balance.

Suddenly, a woman in a tight black dress and high heels walked into the room with a girl carrying a notepad. She introduced herself as Belle, my new stylist and makeup artist, and looked at me disapprovingly, commenting on my baggy clothes and need for tighter ones. Although I felt comfortable in my outfit, I couldn't deny that she was probably right. Belle also mentioned the need to address my acne, and I shook her hand as she introduced herself.

As I looked at Jessie, she smiled at me. It was unexpected to have my own personal stylist. My mother had one, but when she asked me if I wanted one, I declined. I didn't want to be restricted on what I wear. But now, I realized that it was a mistake. If I had a stylist, I could have looked more attractive and maybe my mate wouldn't have rejected me. "Can you please stop it from snowing?" Belle asked, looking at the window. The snow made everything look like an ice kingdom instead of a werewolf pack. "I wish I could," I muttered sadly, but Belle reminded me that I am Reyna, the future queen, and I shouldn't be crying over an *******. I was surprised that she knew about it, but she explained that as my personal stylist, she would be by my side for a long time.

When I asked her about my mate, she confirmed that she knew who he was. I also learned that she didn't like the warrior pack and that Belle's mate was the beta of that pack. She was rejected because she wasn't worthy, and she hasn't seen him since. It reminded me that we both had our own struggles with the warrior pack, a group of ignorant ******** who thought they ruled the world. However, I knew that the Royals were the most important, according to my father. I could make anyone do whatever I want with a snap of my fingers, but I didn't want to force anyone. I poured myself a glass of wine, thinking about everything that had happened.

Jessie looked at me in shock as I reached for the bottle of wine. Despite my young age, I didn't care. I was a Princess after all. I offered some to Belle and her assistant.

I raised my glass and said, "Cheers!" before drinking it all in one gulp.

"Jessie, can you bring us the karaoke machine and more bottles of wine?" I asked. She arrived 30 minutes later with a couple of drinks in tow. Belle suggested getting revenge on our mate and kicking him in the balls. I slurred my agreement and wondered what he was doing. He should regret rejecting me. I wanted him to suffer.

Jessie and kyle looked at us like we had lost our minds. "You see the beautiful snow over there," I said, pointing to the window. "That' how my heart feels." Belle looked at me and said, "That is so heart-touching." I nodded.

I grabbed the microphone and chose "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey. The song filled me with emotion and sadness as I sang. I knew he would never love me. When I finished, Belle started clapping with tears in her eyes. "Parfait," she said, meaning perfect in French.

"I just wish I could call him mine. Just hear his voice one more time," I said, shaking my head. "No, that's stupid. It's not like he cares for me, so I shouldn't care for him." I handed the microphone to Belle and she chose a song I had never heard before called "The Hills" by The Weekend. I spun around the room, loving the feeling. "I need to learn how to fly," I said. "Wait, I can't, I don't have wings."

I walked over to Jessie and Kyle and laid on the floor because I felt really sleepy. Darkness began to take over me after that.

Jessie and Belle started teaching me how to be proper and never to get drunk again. Belle took me to a doctor to help me get a clearer skin. She also threw away all my old clothes and made sure I had the best clothing from the top clothing designers. I was kept busy to always keep my mind off of him.
