When I got to the training feild the next morning, I saw my best friend Sarah. As soon as I saw her, my heart skipped a beat. Sarah looked as beautiful as ever, with her long hair tied up in a ponytail, her athletic build and her warm smile. I couldn't help but feel happy to see her again.

"Emily, it's so good to see you!" Sarah exclaimed, running over to give me a hug. I hugged her back tightly, feeling grateful to have such a good friend.

"I can't believe you're back so soon," I said, pulling away from the hug. "How was your trip?"

"It was amazing," Sarah said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I learned so much about our kind and the world beyond the pack. It was definitely an eye-opening experience."

I couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy at her words. I had always wanted to explore the world beyond the pack, but my duties as a member of the pack always kept me grounded in one place.

Sarah noticed my expression and gave me a sympathetic smile. "Don't worry, Em, you'll get your chance one day. And in the meantime, I'll tell you all about my adventures."

I smiled back at her, feeling grateful for her understanding. We talked for a while, catching up on everything that had happened while she was away. It felt good to have someone to talk to who understood the struggles of being a member of the pack.

As we talked, I couldn't help but notice the way Sarah's eyes kept flickering towards the edge of the training field. I followed her gaze and saw a figure walking towards us.

It was Alpha.

I felt my heart start to race as he approached us, his eyes fixed on Sarah. I could see the admiration in his eyes as he looked at her, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Alpha was always a ladies' man, but I never thought he would be interested in Sarah.

"Hey, Sarah," he said, his voice smooth and deep. "I didn't know you were back in town."

Sarah smiled at him, her face lighting up. "Yeah, I just got back yesterday," she said. "I thought I'd come and see everyone."

"Well, it's good to have you back," Alpha said, his eyes still fixed on her. "You look great."

Sarah blushed at his compliment, and I could see the way she was beginning to fall under his spell. I tried to ignore the way my stomach was churning with jealousy as they talked, but it was hard.

As Sarah and Alpha talked, I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy in my chest. They seemed so comfortable with each other, as if they were old friends. Sarah even playfully punched Alpha on the back, and he chuckled in response. I felt like an outsider looking in, like the alpha was being taken away from me.

I tried to push the jealousy aside and focus on the conversation at hand. Sarah was asking Alpha about the pack's recent activities and plans for the future. He seemed happy to share the information with her, and I couldn't help but notice how his eyes seemed to light up as he spoke.

I couldn't blame Sarah for being interested in Alpha. He was strong, confident, and handsome, after all. But I couldn't shake off the feeling of being left out. I had always been close with Alpha, and now it felt like there was someone else competing for his attention.

As they continued to talk, I noticed that Alpha kept glancing in my direction. Was he checking on me to see how I was handling the situation? Or was he simply making sure I was still there?

After a few minutes of small talk, Alpha turned to me. "Emily, why don't you and Sarah work on some sparring drills together?" he suggested. "I need to talk to one of the other trainers for a minute."

I nodded, grateful for the distraction. Sarah and I moved to the side of the field, and I could see the way Alpha's eyes followed us. I tried to focus on the sparring drills, but my mind kept wandering back to Alpha and Sarah.

As the morning wore on, I was feeling sad and losing emotions in my heart. My heart sank as I realized that I was losing him to her.

But then, as we were packing up to leave, Alpha turned to me. "Hey, Emily," he said. "I was thinking, why don't we grab dinner tonight? Just the two of us."

As Alpha asked me to have dinner with him, I could hardly contain my excitement. My heart raced as I tried to steady my breathing, my mind reeling with disbelief. Was he really asking me out on a date?

I glanced over at Sarah, my best friend and confidant. Her eyes were bright with excitement and encouragement. "Go for it," she mouthed silently, her smile wide.

I turned back to Alpha, feeling the weight of his intense gaze on me. "I'd love to," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

He smiled, and my heart skipped a beat. "Great. I'll pick you up at 7," he said.

As he walked away, I felt a mix of nervousness and anticipation. Was I really ready for this? What if it turned out to be a disaster?

Sarah noticed my hesitation and placed a hand on my shoulder. "You'll be fine, Em," she reassured me. "Just be yourself and have fun."

I nodded, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves. "Thanks, Sarah. I don't know what I'd do without you," I said, smiling gratefully at her.

As I watched Alpha walk away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. He was everything I wanted in a man – strong, confident, and protective. But at the same time, I couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't good enough for him.

The rest of the day passed in a blur as I prepared for my date with Alpha. I spent hours agonizing over what to wear, finally settling on a simple black dress that Sarah had helped me pick out.

When Alpha arrived, my heart leapt in my chest. He looked so handsome in his suit and tie, his dark hair perfectly styled.
