This chapter contains depictions of self harm & suicide

You stood completely still with hallowed eyes and a barley beating heart. The black button up you wore felt tight. Like it was choking you. You stared at the picture of Ashe smiling as the preacher spoke words of God and forgiveness and a bunch of other pointless bullshit. What was even the point? She was dead.

Your friends gathered and mourned her with her family. Half the school was there as well. Ashe was beloved by many, after all. You said nothing. You did nothing. What could you even do? Jinx cried in Ezreal's shoulder while Rakan comforted Xayah. She lost her best friend after all. Ezreal looked over to you, but you didn't even blink.

It was storming that day. You went to her house to see her, but she wasn't home. When you did find her, she was standing on the wall over the bridge. She was soaked head to toe. The storm raged like it was God's fury. Maybe it was.

Y/N: Ashe!

Ashe slowly looked back to you. You could barley see her tears through the rain. Her makeup ran down her cheeks.

Y/N: What are you doing up there?! Get down before you fall!

Ashe: Why? Would would be the point?

You looked at her confused. What was she talking about?

Y/N: Ashe, come down. Talk to me.

Ashe: It doesn't matter anymore, Y/N. There's no end.

Y/N: What? What doesn't end?

Ashe pointed at her head. She slowly gripped some of her hair as she turned back to the rushing waters below.

Ashe: These thoughts. They're eating away at me. Telling me I'll never be good enough. That you deserve someone better. That no matter what I do, it'll never end.

You were confused. She never told you this before. Any of this. Why? Why is she telling you now? Why was she here?

Y/N: Ashe, please....

Ashe: Goodbye, Y/N. I hope you find a good girl to love.

Then, she leaned forward. You reached out to try and grab her, but she slipped right through your fingers. Your eyes wide and tears falling off your cheeks.

Y/N: ASHE!

You looked down as the speech came to an end. The preacher stepped down for Ashe's father to take the stand. He spoke of his baby girl before breaking down himself. Such a sight was enough to move anyone. A parent who had outlived their child.

Her mother was never in the picture. Her aunts and uncle were also there, crying over the lost of their niece. Your peers from school and your friends all suffered the acknowledgement that she was really gone. She wouldn't show up at practice, school, or even just skating around town. She was gone.

Why the fuck did today have to be a perfect weather day?

The reception was held at her house. You sat on the couch, still sulking. Your eyes drifted across the room and watched as everyone interacted. Everyone was in the same place you were mentally. At least, you thought so. They had lost their friend. They loved her like an older sister.

You sat on that couch for seven hours straight. The first to arrive and the last to be dragged out by Rakan. You didn't even eat. You found it hard to do these days. You found it hard to even get out of bed.

Your mind couldn't stop racing. Why didn't she tell you anything? What did she mean when she said you deserved better? She was perfect to you. She saved your life. She was your angel. You loved her. Did she love you? If she did, then why did she leave you?
