"Just another day of work..." A young man around 25 years old sighed as he was cleaning a bunch of dishes at the restaurant he was working in. Even though there were many dishes to clean and many trash bags to dispose of, he did not care as it was just another job for him to make a living for him and his daughter.

"I hope my daughter is okay." The young man thought to himself as he set off doing his job as efficiently as he can, and he was lightheaded from the many hours of work straight that he did without much food.

"Good job. You're done for the day, Lingyun. Take whatever that we haven't thrown away yet." the restaurant owner offered nonchalantly. Even though Lingyun was left with basically the garbage and the old portions of food, he did not care as it was free food to take home for him and his daughter. After he packed up his food, he traveled back to his daughter.

"Hello Xiu Hua, dear. I have food for us!" Lingyun spoke happily as he arrived at their "house" in the alleyway.

"Father, you're back!" Xiu Hua cheered as she ate with her father, but she noticed that there was somewhat less food this time.

"Eat, eat!" Lingyun cheered as he ignored this fact, and only ate a little bit of food

"Father, will you be okay? It's not that much food..."

"I'll be fine, dear. Eat as much as you want."

"No. I refuse."

"Dear..."

"Father, you're hungry. Your stomach rumbles a lot, and you stumble a lot, father. Please eat more." Xiu Hua worriedly told her father while frowning.

"Thank you, dear. Let's just eat whatever, okay?" Lingyun offered and his daughter lightly smiled at this as they ate together, and Lingyun purposefully ate less so that his young daughter could eat more.

"That was a good dinner!"

"Yes father!" Xiu Hua cheered as she hugged her dad and he hugged her back reassuringly.

"Father, can I ask why mother doesn't love us?" Xiu Hua asked sadly as Lingyun frowned.

"What do you mean, dear? Your mother loves you very much... She cares for you..." Lingyun told her with a frown as he gently caressed her cheek

"Then is she not with us, father?"

"It's because she had no choice but to leave us. It was to keep us safe." Lingyun told his 7 year old daughter in a calm manner, but his daughter knew him too well. Despite her young age, Xiu Hua was rather perceptive, and she knew that her father is a bad liar. Although this was the case, she just accepted this answer and said nothing else.

"Father, can we practice the 5 foundings style? I would like to get better with it."

"Of course dear. As long as you know the main rule."

"No teaching outsiders or random people!" Xiu Hua explained and Lingyun smiled at his daughter.

"Okay, let's begin!" Lingyun cheered as they practiced for an hour.

"You messed up a bit, dear. You almost have it down though!"

"Father, can I ask what's wrong?"

"Your stance. Here, let me show you." Lingyun explained as he went to his daughter and shifted her body a bit, and she was now in the correct posture.

"I see, father! Even after 2 years, I still need to work on this."

"Dear. It takes a lifetime to master something. You will get it. It just takes time!" Lingyun told his daughter happily as she smiled before she yawned.

"Father, I am tired. I think I will be heading to sleep." Xiu Hua told her dad and he smiled.

"Of course, let me tuck you in." Lingyun replied as he aided his daughter onto the bed they had found in the streets, and they had cleaned it up.

"Good night, father."

"Good night, dear." Lingyun told her gently as she smiled and a few moments after she closed her eyes, she fell asleep.

"Sigh... I'm sorry I'm such a failure, dear. You shouldn't be living like this. I want a bright future for you, but that's impossible." Lingyun whispered softly as he took his blindfold off and sobbed a bit. He then looked at his daughter sadly before he looked away from her.

His daughter looked like a mix between him and his wife. She was beautiful, and she also had elegant and long blonde hair. For someone that's so young, her body was also becoming tone and strong due to the training that she received from her father.

"I've been nothing but a failure my whole life." Lingyun thought aloud, softly as he looked at a mirror they have nearby.

Despite his looks, he was always ashamed of how he looked. His hair is always slicked to the left side, and he had a unique ionian inspired earring on his right ear. Due to his past, he always hides his eyes behind his blindfold which had a unique blue dragon design on it. He especially hated the dragon tattoo he had around his right eye.

"I will do whatever I can to provide a good living for you, dear." Lingyun made a vow as he thought aloud and gently kissed her forehead. After doing this, he gently cried before he put his blindfold back on, and he tucked himself in with her while making sure that she was comfortable.

Little did he know that his daughter was actually awake this whole time, and merely faked her sleep. As she heard this, she felt saddened as she really cares for her father's wellbeing.
