Ever since mother passed away everything has been going downhill... and quickly.
Father is distressed, all the servants are tense, and the townfolk is starting to rebel against us.... whatever shall I do to help? I don't know.
-Prince Kazuha, your majesty wishes to see you in the throne room- a servant approached me with a slight bow.
-Thank you I'll be there in a minute- I replied, the servant bowed again and left.
As I walked to the throne room I could hear servants bustling in the kitchen getting ready for... something.
-Father, you wanted to see me?- I asked, walking into the throne room.
-Ah, son! Yes, yes, come in- he said, gesturing me to come closer- The Shikanoins are coming over for a couple of weeks, we need to discuss an alliance-
The Shikanoin Family was a distinguished clan from another kingdom, I never got to meet them personally but I've heard they have a son and a daughter around my age.
- While they're here, would you mind accompanying Heizou, their son, and Kuki, their daughter? [I have a hc where Heizou and Kuki are adopted siblings ok?]- he asked.
-Sure!- that couldn't be that hard.... I was wrong.

Time Skip: They arrive

As I was standing at the door of the castle, I started spacing out till I could hear the horse shackles in the distance. I fixed my posture and when the carriage arrived I put on the most welcoming smile I could make at 11 am.
When the carriage stopped I went down the stairs leading to the patio ready to greet them.
-Welcome to our Estate, I hope your stay here will be pleasant- I said with a small bow.
-Oh darling, you don't have to be so formal, but thank you anyways- said Mrs. Shikanoin [I don't want to make up any names rn so that's what you get]
-You must be Prince Kaedehara Kazuha, it's a pleasure to meet you- said Mr. Shikanoin.
I nodded in response. I looked over at Heizou and Kuki and smiled, they smiled back.
I lead them to the throne room where my father was.
-Ah! There you are! Mr. and Mrs. Shikanoin, I believe you've met my son- my father said, while slightly bending down and kissing Mrs. Shikanoins hand.
-We have! He's such a sweetheart! You raised him well!- Mrs. Shikanoin said.
-Hahaha! Oh you flatter me, it's mostly her mother who taught him- he laughed, that disturbed me a little- Son, we're going to go to the meeting room, you can show Heizou and Kuki around the castle-
