I realised that there would be many unexplained holes in the story if I didn't put a backstory for each character. I did think of putting this at the start, but I feel it is more fitting here. As you may have noticed, some characters have randomly died or come back to life *cough cough* Snape *cough cough*. And, from this point onwards, it's rly important to get to know some background info of the characters. This is just some basic background stories of theirs, so it makes a lot more sense.

First up is Percy's fall in Tartarus. (Yes, he fell alone)

— At the cliff edge —

Percy grabbed onto Annabeth. "I'm never losing you again, Seaweed Brain. I can't."

"I'm not letting go, Wise girl. Together. Always." He paused, and she watched as guilt filled his eyes. She barely had time to register her body losing all weight and...

Hitting the floor. Tartarus was a nine day fall. How was she down already? She looked at her surrounding. The Argo II. "No! No! Percy!"
She ran out to the deck, only to see her boyfriend smile and fall unconscious, no one to save him from falling into the Pit. She couldn't help the relief that filled her though. She smiled. She wasn't in Tartarus. She wasn't in Tartarus! She wasn't in-

"Where is Percy?" A voice called out. The voice of Nico Di Angelo.

(Don't worry I will explain Nico's story fully, but in one of the Chapters)

Percy

I saved my Wise Girl. I smiled at her, before I felt my eyelids getting heavy and I felt myself fall. I did it! I saved her. I managed to vapour travel her away. It didn't really count. The Argo II was really close, so it didn't require much. But I still fainted. Weak.

I woke up on the seventh day of my fall. I know because from that point on I started counting seconds. The amount of seconds it took to touch the ground. I felt a river below me. The river was familiar. Styx. I almost laughed at the irony. Styx? If I was lucky she would torment me forever. Unlucky? She would kill me there and then and the Seven would fail the quest. I had no choice but to will the water to rise up and cushion my fall. I felt the Lady Styx resisting me, using the river to let me die instead. I won. The water came up and caught me, the river instantly tormenting me. I felt my soul get ripped apart, the cursed souls roaming, their hatred filled voices drowning me. I would have drowned. But I fell unconscious. Again. The water couldn't drown me, being a Son Of Poseidon, but I no longer heard the calls of tormented souls.

The rest is gonna be in a separate book. Coz I rly wanna write it!!!! It's gonna be so cool lol.  But basically, he falls, makes his way to the doors, gets used, scarred and tortured in the way, while also receiving some uncanny blessings. He also goes dark. He starts to annihilate monsters using the blood, since now, there was no Annabeth to stop him from going over the line. He became heartless. However, I won't be mentioning any blessings from Tartarus in this book as it wouldn't make sense unless you read the other book, which is currently unpublished.

Nico Di Angelo

They kept me in a container. I couldn't breathe. I was stuck in a trance. There was no food. There was nothing. I was stuck in my head, my physical form paralysed. They couldn't hurt me physically, my body was a shadow. It was a hallucination. I wasn't there. It was just an illusion. I felt a soul leave. Someone important. No one came to save me. So I fell into the shadows. I melted into them. I listened to the voices of the lost. The ones who were forgotten. The ones who became shadows after being neglected for so long. They guided me. And before I realised it, I was kicked out of the shadows, my body no longer in the container, but right outside the Pit. As I watched two familiar sea green eyes fall into Tartarus. I saw it, but I asked anyway.

"Where is Percy?" My tone was dark. It was scary. It was threatening. I was daring them to tell me I had just seen that. I tried to get the shadows to bring him, but even they were unable to resist the Pit. And then I saw her smile. I saw the relief. It disappeared. Fake pity, fake tears. Fake.

She had known he would fall.

Snape

Snape never died. Voldemort tried to kill him, but Draco intervened, revealing that he was a double agent. Snape still loved Lily, and pretty much everything else is the same. He doesn't favour Harry at all, he rather is quite disgusted by who Harry has turned into. He is still indifferent to him though, knowing the boy has his mother's eyes and reminds him too much of Lily if he looks at him.
