Rolling over, I look at the time.

7:00 am.

26.01.2023. Republic Day. A national holiday.

There I was, waking up to the alarm when every other student was sleeping in. It did not worry me though- the excitement had not let me have a good night's sleep and I was more than happy to wake up and get ready for the day.

I let the shampoo trail off my neck as I leaned front to better grip the razor. Excitement gripped me with a tinge of fear as I thought of what was going to happen in the near future.

"IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING," I think excitedly, counting down the minutes passing away.

I put the towel on the bed and apply the serum, blushing at my reflection. The excitement still consumed me as I headed towards the mess, planning a very light lunch.

A phone call from him interrupts me as I brace myself for any possible bad news. "There is bad news," he says in a grave tone. I had feared this would happen and there we were- me trying not to sound upset with girls swarming around me, and him trying to put forward the news as mildly as he could.

"We could search for a different hotel," he added, encouragingly. Afraid to get my hopes high again for nothing, I reject his offer and throw away the rest of the meal.

I can get you in the mood. His words keep repeating again and again in my head as I try to push away the negative thoughts and get ready for a nap again. All my morning's hard work had gone to a waste and nobody was to be blamed for it.

As I remove my slippers, his name lights up my phone again.

"I have good news," he says excitedly, his voice waiting for me to give the approval to continue.

That man had gone beyond his way and kept searching for hotels that were cheap as well as safe. We had decided to make the best of this day- and even though I gave up easily, he searched and called hotels to ask them about their rooms and rules.

"I can get you in the mood," he repeated as I laugh and hurriedly put on my slippers, hurrying towards his FC to meet him as soon as I can.
