"Flowers?"

"Tiger lillies"

"Colors?"

"Green and silver."

"Cake?"

"Coconut."

Alex and I were sitting up in bed, making sure all the details for our big day were perfect. I nervously stared at all the papers in front of me and chewed on my button lip.

"There are just too many details that go into weddings" I said, groaning and hitting myself with a folder of silverware magazines.

Alex smiled weakly at me and touched my hand.

"It'll all be worth it when you have the most beautiful wedding ever and I see how happy you are."

God. What a cheesepuff. That's right, no longer a cake. He was a puff.

And a pretty darn cute one at that.

"I just wish someone could do it for us" I mumbled, falling back against the pillows.

"Babe," Alex started, chuckling and moving some papers out of the way.

"That's why we have Angela."

I looked at him through the corner of my eye and scowled. "Well she's clearly not doing a good job."

Alex's laugh shook the bed and he leaned back on the pillows with me and placed his hand on my stomach.

"I know you don't like her but just think, she'll be out of our hair soon enough."

"Yeah after we have to pay her. It's like paying her to try to sleep with you. It's paying an attempted prostitute!"

Alex laughed again and grabbed a pillow, hiding his face. He was so cute that my heart was throbbing and my stomach felt fluttery.

I laughed a little too, despite how serious I was. It was just hard to resist joining in when he was laughing so hard that he was clutching his sides. I cuddled into him and laid my cheek against his shoulder.

"Can we just elope?" I asked in a whisper.

Alex lifted up and moved the pillow just enough to look at me. "And spare us all Jack and Callie playing Riding Dirty at our reception? I think not."

It was my turn to laugh now. I rolled on my back and covered my eyes with my arms, feeling my eyes sting with amused tears.

"Val?"

I lowered my arms a little and turned to him. "Hmm?"

"I love you."

I dropped my arms from my face completely and reached out to him. He pushed himself up on his palm and hovered over me.

"I love you too."

He leaned down and kissed me lightly, his lips barely touching mine and his facial hair tickling me. "Our wedding will kickass, babe. I promise."

I smiled against his lips and sighed happily. He was right; our wedding will kick ass and that should be what I was focused on.
