Wei Wuxian has been missing for almost three weeks now. Though Wei Wuxian lost his sense of time as it was hard to tell whether it was day or night within the burial mounds. The resentment made it difficult to see to begin with, plus the sky was constantly overcast with dark clouds. During those three weeks, his heart was battling with his head. He was battling to keep fighting for his life or to let it go.

Though he was safe inside the cave, he had to eventually venture out to find food and water. He knows the moment he stepped out of the cave, the resentful energy would pay him a visit. The smoky tendrils were still waiting for him. Wuxian could hear soft whispers, almost as if the resentment was calling for him to go to it. For the first time in days, he tried to stand. His balance was not so great but as he leaned against the cave wall, it helped. Once he was sure he was okay, he tried to walk. His body hurt like a bitch. It ached with every small step he took.

The moment he stepped out of the cave, he was greeted by the resentful energy. There were screams and sobs, yelling and crying. Wuxian's body shivered as the cold pricked away at his skin. The screams became so loud that he couldn't hear anything else. His ears began ringing and he was surprised that his eardrums had not burst yet.

Do you want revenge?

Be our friend!

Be our new master

Get revenge for those who wronged you!

Voices called out to him, saying so many things at once. The voices only seemed to get louder when something silver came into his vision.

Help us, and we will help you.

For your Shidi, and your Shijie.

For your lover.

Wei Wuxian froze in place the moment he heard the word lover.

"What lover?" He asked out loud.

Second Master of the Lan Sect, the love of your life. You cannot deny it, we know everything about you. We can help you, we can protect you. We can give you power again.

"No!" Wei Wuxian said as he fell to the ground clutching his stomach.

The scar over his dantian began to burn, as if something extremely hot was singeing at his skin. He groaned and cried as he felt the pain move into his dantian. He started to choke on resentment as it began to fill his lungs. He knew then, he felt then, that his life was completely coming to an end.

Wei Ying?

Wei Ying? Are you there?

"Lahhh," Wuxian tried to say Lan Zhan as his voice sounded through the loud noises of resentful souls.

Come back to me my love.

"You..." Wuxian said as a figure appeared before him, using the voice of Lan Wangji, to manipulate him, "you are not him!"

The ghostly figure laughed cunningly, I know, but I can be. I can give you exactly what you long for.

"No!" Wei Wuxian yelled, but soon found himself being pinned to the ground.

He couldn't see anything holding him down but he could feel the force. The ghostly figure made his appearance look exactly like Lan Wangji and straddled Wei Wuxian at his waist.

Mnn, beautiful.

"You are not allowed to touch me! None of you resentful beings are not allowed to touch me!" Wei Wuxian yelled.
