"LEV GET BACK HERE! YOUR RECEIVES STILL SUCK!" Yaku was chasing Lev around the gym, unhappy that the first year was trying to skip out on receiving practice.

"KUROO-SAN HELP ME! YAKU-SAN IS TRYING TO KILL ME!" The poor boy was fearing for his life, running with the last bit of energy he had.

The captain was sitting next to you, trying to discuss something important involving the team. "Lev, remember that you almost hit Y/n with one of your crappy receives yesterday! Go practice receives with Yakkun!"

The first year flinched, remembering how his captain yelled at him in the changing room after yesterday's practice. He immediately stopped running and allowed the third year libero to practice with him.

You turned to Kuroo with a smile. "Really going at the boys hard, huh?"

He smirked, looking at you. "He did almost hurt our manager and he needs to work on his receives anyways."

"Are you using me as an excuse to make the others work harder?"

"No. I just want to make sure they're a well-oiled machine and can uphold Nekoma's well-known defense. If I'm using you as an excuse for anyone to try harder, it would be for myself."

Your eyes widened at that statement. "Why would you try harder for me?"

He gave a gentle smile. "So you're not working too hard. I don't want you to end up getting stressed over your manager duties, or feel like you're unable to handle everything."

You give Kuroo an appreciative look. "Thanks, Kuroo-senpai. But you shouldn't put too much pressure on yourself. As a third year, you already have a lot on you. That's why I'm here, to help you out. Don't hesitate to call on me if you ever need anything."

"Now, if I always did that, you'd barely get time to yourself. Lemme handle most of the thing here."

"I appreciate the thought, senpai, but I've done manager things before. I can handle it."

Kuroo sighed, looking away from you briefly. "Fine. I guess I can't argue with you about it any further. I suppose we could compromise and split the workload 50/50. How does that sound, Y/n?"

You smile at him. "I think I can agree to sharing the workload evenly."

"About the strategy you were talking about earlier... I don't know how effective it'll be in matches." You show your notes to the captain.

He takes the notebook from your hands, carefully reading over your writing. "You may have a point there. But what other strategy could we use in matches?"

You sigh. "It will have to vary based on what team we have as our opponent. Of course, the easiest method would be to observe our opponent and find a way to counter their own strategy. I think our solid defense should remain our number one priority, of course. Keeping our solid defense will ensure that our opponent has difficulty with scoring, meaning it gives us time to figure out a more precise strategy to use against them."

Kuroo hums. "That's pretty smart. How'd you think of that?"

"Being observant is a strength, my dear captain." You smirk at him.

He chuckles. "You and Kenma are similar in that sense."

You shrug. "Maybe."

He smiles, eyes glued to your figure. "It's not a bad thing. Kenma's observation skills helps in game, however having someone observing from the sidelines might just give us that slight advantage we need."

You look at him, meeting his soft gaze. "Really?"

Kuroo nods. "Yeah. You're gonna really help the team out... probably more than you'll ever realize."

You smile sweetly at the tall captain. "Well... I'm glad to be of any help."

"I'm so glad you joined us."
