Next Step

~chapter 7~

"Bella put your hand on my chest and breath with me" she said. I did as I was told, She exaggerated her breathing so I could calm down. I did calm down after a while."

Maya Pov

"You okay Ellie?" I asked. She nodded her head

We walked up to the door with Ellie directly behind Carina, I knocked on the door... No answer.

"Maybe he's not home" my wife said. The door flew open and this tall muscular man with black hair and hazel eyes stood in the door way.

"Why are you back?" the man asked as he approached Ellie. "who are you?" he asked. "I'm Ellie's subject teacher Mrs. Deluca-Bishop and this is my wife" I introduced
 
Ellie's dad rolled his eyes. " Why'd you bring her here?" he asked with an attitude.

"Because you are her father..." Carina said before I could.

"Whatever get in here, I bet you missed me" he said.

I watched as Ellie passed Carina and I, and went into the house. Once she was fully inside Ellie's father closed the doors in our faces right before he told us to never come back.

"Well that was weird" I said getting back into the car.

"Yeah it was" " Did you smell alcohol?" Carina asked putting her seat belt on. I nodded sadly

One week later..

Carina's Pov

It's been couple days since my wife and I dropped Ellie off and I haven't seen her since. I'm getting worried because Ellie never missed a day of school and how her father treated her was a little harsh.  I mentioned it to my wife but she just told me that Ellie looked a little pail when she was here so she's probably sick, but I don't believe that she's sick.

Couple hours later...

"Hi beautiful" my wife said as she came up to hug me.

"Hi bella, How was your day? " I asked

"It was amazing but I missed you" she said with a pouting face.

After a minute of silence I kind of zoned out and Maya noticed.

Maya's Pov

"Baby you okay?" I asked Carina. No reply. I gently tapped Carina on her shoulder and she jumped a little.

"Sorry baby but are you okay?" I asked again as I was getting a little concerned.

"Yeah just a little worried about Ellie, she still hasn't come to school yet" Carina said. I sat there thinking of a solution.

"How about tomorrow after school you go and check on her to see how she's doing?" I proposed.

"Yeah I think I'll do that" She said excited

"You're so cute you know that" I said planting a kiss on her cheek.

"I love you bella" my wife said.

"I love you to" I said.

We ended the night with dinner and and a movie by the fire place
