~Chapter 8~

I have decided that since i really like when Maya first became captain and everyone didn't like her that I added it in

This whole chapter will be Carina's Pov

I woke up around minutes to 4am feeling anxious for the day ahead of me. I didn't know why but I did at the same time, I was finally getting to see if Ellie was okay, Honestly speaking I missed her so much and I'm worried for her. I remembered when I first met Ellie, she was a ball of sunshine.

flashback...

it was September 6th 2019 it was my first day at a new school. I was really excited to be teaching an older age group. I began walking along the corridor when this tiny little girl accidentally pushed me and made me drop all of my books and assessments.

"omg I'm so sorry, I'm really late for class" she said helping me pick up the stuff that had dropped.

"It's okay accidents happen. What class do you have now?" I asked

"Um I have English lit with the new teacher Mrs.Deluca I think that's her name " she said.

"Its Deluca guess you have a class with me today" I said and a big genuine smile appeared on her face. "come on let's go before you are actually late" I said and we both headed to the classroom.

End of flashback...

Maya had just woken up, I hadn't gone back to sleep, I was to anxious to.

"Hi baby" My wife said snuggling up to me.

"Buongiorno (Good morning) bella I love you" I said kissing her soft pink lips. we stayed snuggled up for about 10 minutes before we actually got up and started our day. Maya and I decided that we should drive separately today since she had a late shift and today was half day at the school.

"Baby you okay?" my wife asked

"uh yeah why you asked" I asked confused

"you seem tense and today you're going to see Ellie just wanted to know how you feel" she said.

"Uh well I am a little anxious but other than that I'm okay" I said honestly.

After getting dressed and doing the things we needed to do we headed downstairs and fed Jeff  and left. Maya usually makes a smoothie and take it with her but today she decided to make it at the station.

it was 3rd period. I was teaching the first years in the school, My head was all over the place I couldn't stop thinking about Ellie, so many things were going through my head like thinking she was dead or severely hurt. I had given the children an assessment since it was exam time. I was really thankful that they had the test today. A student came up to me and snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Hey Mrs.Deluca-Bishop I'm finished my test can I use the bathroom?" the student asked

"Yeah sure just turn you paper over and put something on top so it doesn't blow away" I said. The student did as told and left.

It was finally lunch and on Tuesdays I go down by the station and to my luck today is Tuesday. Today wasn't raining and it was only a five minute walk so I walked to the station.

I walked through the doors and they had just came back from a scene. Everyone was walking up to the beanery so was Maya but  she hadn't seen me yet so I just followed.

"Hi Carina" Ben approached

"Hi Ben how are you" I replied

"I'm okay thanks for asking" he said

"Carina when did you arrive" Maya asked

"When you guys were getting out of the trucks" I said and went to kiss Maya.

"Do you want to go down to my office or stay up here" Maya asked. I said yes and Andy scoffed, I was about to go blow up at her but Maya gave me a look. Ever since Maya became captain the station was treating her really really bad and it was annoying, she became captain 5 months ago and they are still with this childish behavior. I had told Maya to report it multiple times but she never did, she said they were her family and she didn't wanted to be split up from them so I just stopped talking about it.

Maya and I sat next to each other and went into our own bubble we talked about my day and Ellie, When someone cleared their throat I looked around and saw everyone looking at Maya and I.

"Yeah? What do you need?" Maya asked.

"When is the probie coming" Travis asked

"Tomorrow Morning" Maya said.

I left the station an hour ago. I went back to the school to finish off the day. I left around 1:30 I came home,showered and put on some comfy clothes and headed out the door to go to Ellie's house. When I got there my anxiety began to kick in. I hopped out of the car and made my way to the front door. The door was cracked open and I saw a lifeless body laying there.
