In the year 2100, the telecommunications company Rare communications has monopolized the international telecommunications market skipping all the antitrust laws of the world, despite this is one of the few companies that promotes human labor as this was replaced by machines long ago, especially in the Dominican Republic since not everyone applied for monthly income for that reason still remains labor in some sectors. The installation technician Juan Manuel Antonio De los santos Restituyo or better known by his relatives, colleagues and acquaintances as Manolo Restituyo is one of the few technicians who works in person, although not everyone accepts robots that replace human technicians, however, he wants something new from his life, so he goes to report to his supervisor as every day.

-Good morning, Minister Mendez. -Said Manolo as he enters the supervisor's office and sits in the chair across from him.

-Now what do you want, Restituyo, can't you see that I am busy. -Replied the supervisor as he reviewed some papers.

-You know what we have talked about during these three years, it is time for me to retire, I need something better in my life, I have given all the best of me during these twenty years of service, so I ask you to accept my resignation. -Manolo answered decisively and while standing up from his chair.

Then Manolo sits back in his chair.

-You know I also wanted you to leave the company in the best possible way and you are for me one of the best technicians or if not the best technician in the history of this company, but unfortunately, I can not let you go so easily. -Replied the supervisor in a professional manner. This did not please Manolo.

-And now what is the umpteenth reason why I can't leave here? -Manolo said uncomfortably. -You remember the project to intercommunicate the dark dimension with the earth, in order to provide our technology to that dimension to avoid our imminent destruction. -The supervisor answered.

-I guess that project was me, you, the supervisors and coordinators of the company went to that mountain rag that is worse than San Juan, full of weird pods, out of hell itself, that pa that those pods do not kill us, we had to teach the benefits of human technology and thus try to prevent a conquest by those bacas, right? -explained Manolo with irony.

-More respect I give back that I am from San Juan. -The supervisor exclaimed that he was annoyed by the way some Dominicans see San Juan and added coming to his senses. -But on another note, the Project is about to fail, since many of those beings are technophobes and conspiracists who believe that, using the power of telecommunications, we are going to conquer their world.

-And that's not true. -Manolo asked out of curiosity and intrigue.

The supervisor looks at the cameras, makes signs to tell him something in his ear. Manolo comes closer so that he can say it in his ear.

-They say no, but they really want to manipulate, subdue and conquer them like when the Spaniards gave the Indians mirrors for gold, you know what I mean. -The supervisor whispered in Manolo's ear.

The supervisor returns to his seat and Manolo laughs in a malicious way.
