For someone out there. Whose been hiding behind a mask to keep up the image of the perfect version of themselves, trying to fit into the role to be recognized by this cruel society.
Trying to live up to these expectations of someone else just to be recognized, even if it means drowning yourself with these expectations that turn into frustrations that lead to depression, that could destroy you, just for the sake of recognition.
I know someone will say, "It's not just about the recognition," Yes, sure. It's not just about the recognition but also about the proud faces of your loved ones.
As a child, we always want our parents to be proud. Cause seeing your parents being happy makes you happy, right? That is why you always do your best in everything. Even if you've reached your limit, to the point that you'll start questioning yourself, "Am I happy?" " Is this what I really want to do?" "What do I want to do?".And it will start confusing you to the point that you might lose yourself if you do not let yourself be freed from the expectations that chained you.
I hope that the people that are having this will soon realize that recognition is something that can't last forever.
I hope they would get tired of living up to these expectations and let themselves be free from the things that chained them. And to be free, there are a lot of consequences that you should take.
Because everything in this world comes with a price, right?
And to be free, you should take the consequences. To be happy, you must take a risk.
