Aurora's POV:

I can't believe I agreed to this. I never actually skipped school before, considering the fact that I've done quite a lot of things growing up. Skipping school was never on that list. But Eli started giving me puppy dog eyes and I couldn't resist. Trying to calm my nerves I took in a deep breath, before exhaling. I then felt Eli hold my hand tightly as we ran into the parking lot. No one noticed that we left, hopefully anyway. Eli pulled out his car keys and then stopped in front of a blue Jeep. It looked pretty old, to be honest. Eli unlocked the car, before opening the passenger door for me.

He stepped to the side and made a hand gesture "M'lady" He said with a stupid grin

I rolled my eyes with a smile "Why thank you kind sir" I said, deciding to play along

I took off my backpack and placed it on the floor of the car, before getting in myself. Eli then closed the door for me. I looked down at my lap as my cheeks got red, I know it's the bare minimum but no one has really opened a car door for me, by side my dad. My smile fazed remembering how much I miss him. He was always so protective of me, especially with boys. He never liked Jay, he used to say "He doesn't deserve your corazón, Princesa. He's not good for you, you deserve better than that payaso" And he was right, I wish I would've listened to him.

But deep down I feel like my dad would've liked Eli. He was everything Jay wasn't, in a good way. My thoughts were cut off by Eli closing his door. I moved my head towards him, just to see him already staring at me.

"What's wrong?" He asked concerned

I looked at him slightly confused as I shook my head "Nothing" I said

"We don't have to skip if you really don't want to..."

"No, it's not that! It's just-.." I didn't want to bring the mood down by bringing up my father. "I was just thinking, maybe we can go to the coffee shop and have something to eat"

He stared at me for a second before smiling "You sure?"

I smile at him "yea. Now let's go I'm hungry"

He let out a little laugh and moved to put on his seatbelt as I did the same. He glanced over at me to make sure I had mines on before turning on the car. As Eli started to back out of the parking stop, I started to overthink that someone saw us leave. I really don't wanna get in trouble with my mom because she would whoop my ass. She doesn't play with school and I'm surprised that she let me stay home for the last few days always. I moved my attention to the window and once we left the school's parking lot, I let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Maybes skipping school with Eli isn't going to be too bad...

Eli opened the door to the coffee shop and steps aside so I go. I give him a smile before walking in with him behind me. There weren't a lot of people here, mostly because it was like 7 in the morning. Usually, everyone is at school or at work at this time. So it was pretty empty besides the old couple in the back. A smile appeared on my face when the smell of fresh coffee and cookies hit my nostrils. I find it oddly comforting, don't ask me why. We both walked over to the counter and there was a middle-aged woman working there. She looked at us and give us a soft smile, which I returned.

"Good morning, what can I get for you two?" She said kindly.

I looked up at the menu as Eli looked at me. My eyes scanned at the words before they came to a stop.

"Can I get an egg and cheese sandwich and a water, please? " I said looking back to the lady. She nodded as she typed into the tablet and then moved her gaze to Eli.

"I'll have the same thing," He said with a small smile

She once again nodded "That would be 12 dollars"

I opened my handbag to get some cash, I didn't think it was fair for Eli to pay when I wanted to eat. But all of a sudden my wallet wasn't in my hands anymore. Realizing that it was Eli, I immediately looked at him confused. He just slightly smirked at me, which made me roll my eyes and give him an annoyed look. I tried to grab it from him but just move it more away from me.

"Come on Eli, give it back," I said a little impatient

"And let you pay?" He raised an eyebrow before shaking his head "Not happening, Rory"

"It was my idea to come here so let me pay" I tried once more to grab my wallet but failed

"Nope" and with a grin he passed the lady his money as she looked amused by the whole situation

"Here or to go, sweetheart?" The lady said

"To go please" He answered back kindly

We then walked over to the side since another customer walked in. Eli handed me my wallet, I immediately took it back and give him a 'are you serious' look. To that, he just shrugged, which caused me to playfully hit his arm.

"What?" He said with a laugh

"I wanted to pay, Eli," I said trying to be mad at him but it was hard when he was smiling softly at me.

My heart feels like it was going to explode as he leans forward pushing my curly hair behind my ear and letting his fingers glaze my jaw for a few seconds.

"I know, but I wasn't going to let you pay. I'm never gonna let you buy anything when we're together"

I shook my head "Eli you can't- I'll feel too bad"

"Don't"

Eli then glanced over my shoulder causing me to look as well. The lady had placed a bag on the counter along with our water bottles. We both headed over, Eli grabbed the bag and I immediately grabbed the waters. Causing him to playfully roll his eyes as I give him a sarcastic smirk. I turned to the nice lady and give her a smile.

"Thank you," I said kindly

With a smile, she said, "You're welcome and have a good day."

"You too Ma'am" Eli said before we both walked away

He opened the door for me "Where are we going anyway?" I asked him as he followed behind me

He shrugged now next to me "Just a good spot that I found. No one knows about it, not even Lindsay and Tim."

I looked at him confused "And you're taking me? Why not Lindsay and Tim?"

He didn't say anything for a second, he looked hesitant "Because you're more important to me"

"How am I more important than your childhood friends?"

I heard him sigh, He was holding back an answer. I knew he was hiding something from me and I wanted to know what it was. And how I'm 'more important' to him than Tim and Lindsay. I mean yeah we both like each other but it's not like we don't. For right now anyways.

"Eli, how-.." I began to say but he cut me off

"You just are, Aurora. Can we please just drop it?" he asked desperately trying to change the subject

I nodded, seeing that he doesn't want to talk about it. "Shell we go to your secret spot, sire," I said in an old accent, Realizing that he hadn't moved from the door.

He smiles before nodding "We shell M'lady"
