Taehyun lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling in utter boredom as Choi Soobin chewed him out over the phone.
"You broke your fucking arm! You can't be by yourself!"
"Hyung-"
"You're not moving an inch from that bed. How could you be so careless Taehyun!? Right before the tournament too! Falling down the stairs? Since when were you so clumsy!"
Taehyun groaned. "Please stop nagging. I'll be fine by myself."
"Hell no. How do you even eat?? Do anything really?"
"I believe for these exact circumstances, god has given me something called a left hand."
"Which you don't use for basic functioning. I'm sending someone over."
"Please not Beomgyu hyung. He'd take this opportunity to wreck my house cuz I can't headlock him."
There's silence for a moment, and Taehyun frowned.
"Hello?"
"I'm here. Just texted your new caretaker. Will be there in a minute."
"Is it Kai?"
"You'll see." His words are too rushed. "Anyway, take care of yourself, don't move around too much and... about the tournament, don't feel guilty Hyun. There's a lot more to come."
Taehyun nodded, even though Soobin couldn't see him. "Bye Hyung."
"Bye bye."
He let out a deep sigh as he sat up, careful not to strain his broken arm. He stared at the cast for a moment, and wondered if it was worth it.
If she was worth it.
Just thinking about the bastards behind the whole thing made Taehyun want to do it all over again.
He smiled, satisfied. No regrets for this one then.
He reached for the water bottle on his nightstand, braced his hand on the bed to reach it, and hissed as pain flared up his arm.
"Wtf Taehyun."
He knocks the bottle over at the sound of the voice at his bedroom door. He whips his head in its direction, and his jaw drops.
"How tf did you get in here!"
Choi y/n rolls her eyes, strolling into the room as if she owned the place, and picked up the water bottle.
"Soobin gave me the keys." She poured him a glass and handed it to him.
"How-" he shook his head. "No. Just no. There's no way I'm letting you baby me around today. Besides, you should be training for your tournament!"
Taehyun and Y/n never really got along. They were the best in their weight classes at the gym, and had a fair share of wins under their belts. They were the pride of their district, the best of the best.
You'd think they'd work together to dominate the boxing world, but no. Maybe it was their pride, their ego, or a lil something else that pushed them to opposite sides of the team. They couldn't place why exactly, but they couldn't help but hate each other.
"There's drama." She said tiredly, rubbing her head. "The tournament might as well be cancelled, at least for the girls that is."
Taehyun froze. "What happened?"
She just shrugged. "The girls from the other gym asked the boys to beat me up to kick me out of the game. They were caught planning it by Hueningie. But weirdly, before he could take it to the coach... they just surrendered themselves? They looked like shit. Bruises all over, split lips, swollen jaws. I think they fought amongst themselves."
