Chapter 5: A Crushing Defeat

Marinette POV

"Any luck, Master?" I asked.

Master Fu shook his head and sighed. I petted the weakened Tikki as she coughed. Nikki held her hand while Shayne paced around the room, deep in thought.

"If we find out who Sasori is, maybe we can somehow retrieve Tikki's powers from her." Shayne suggested.

"How so?" I asked.

"I-. I don't know. But, everyone's wondering where Ladybug is and last time I checked, Nikki can't capture akumas." He said in dismay.

"At least Hawkmoth hasn't launched an attack. So there's that." I said.

Suddenly, we heard a cry for help.

"You were saying, Sugar bug?" Shayne said, raising an eyebrow.

"Never mind. We'll go and check it out." I said, reaching for the cat miraculous.

"Are you sure about this?" Shayne asked as I pulled on the ring.

I nodded and got up. After saying "Plagg, Claws out!", I  found myself in a dark grey catsuit with fluorescent green accents on my knees, forearms, waist, and neck. I have black gloves on my forearms with claws and a fluorescent green band that goes down a bit and a black ball, and my black collar is a little open at the neck and has a fluorescent green band that goes down to my  chest and a black ball in the lower part of the neck. Around the waist, a black belt with a fluorescent green band in the middle at the right leg, a black button with a fluo-green cat, and a fluorescent green son with a black ball hanging. My black fluo-green boots go all the way up to the knee, with a small flowing green band in the heel, and end with small black triangular platform shoes. I have floor-length black hair that is styled in a single braid, which makes it look like a tail. I also have cat ears on her head with fluorescent green accents and a black mask. I also have a staff attached to my waist.

"Lady Noire is back." I said with a grin.

"You're a knockout, Sugar bug." Shayne said in awe.

"Thanks, Webs. Now, let's go fight ourselves an akuma." I said.

As we made our way to the scene, we saw a large black ink-like monster with a white spider symbol in its torso hurling cars at civilians and police officers. Spider-X fired his webbing at one of the cars, stopping it in its tracks. I used my staff to drive back the ink monster, who licked its lips in hunger at me.

"My lucky day. I was on the hunt for Ladybug, but instead I found a girl in a catsuit. I wonder how you'll taste." It said.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked.

"His name's Venom. He's a symbiote bonded to a man named Eddie Brock." Spider-X called as he attempted to throw a punch at him, only to be thrown at a wall.

"And thanks to Hawkmoth, I've found two snacks in one night." Venom said and lunged at us.

I backflipped away from him and struck him with my staff. As her tried to regain his footing, Spider-X kicked him in the jaw, using some of his bioelectricity. Venom shrugged off the attacks and launched black tendrils at us. I used my staff to slash at the tendrils, only to be pinned down to the wall. Venom was about to eat me, but screamed in pain as Spider-X used his bioelectricity to stun him.

"Didn't your mother tell you it's rude to hit a lady, Venom?" He taunted.

Suddenly, Sasori appeared, holding a battered and bruised Master Fu and the miracle box in her hands. Alongside her was a blonde haired boy dressed in a purple and black catsuit with a matching mask.
