A year with my kidnapper

It was around noon on the 31st when the girls woke up. When Ember woke up she noticed that she wasn't the estate. Not to mention the headache that she had currently. Looking around the room she started to get a sense of deja vu as though she had been here before. It wasn't until she walked over to the vanity that was in front of the bed against the wall. All around the vanity, there were post-it notes with writing on each. 

'Shit, shit, no, no' It was at that moment that Ember started to piece together why this room felt so familiar. It was her old room. Ember ran out of the room into the hallway. Beatrix also ran into the hallway at the same time. In the distance, the girls could hear voices. Walking up to the banister they saw both their families crying and talking. Time froze. Both girls slowly looked at each other with one single thought between both of them.

'They left us. They really left us'  The next moment both girls cried out and ran toward each other. Holding each other they fell to the ground. The families heard this cry and were filled with excitement. Getting up they all ran upstairs ecstatic to see their daughters. Only there was nothing exciting about this moment for either Ember or Beatrix. Devastation and sorrow filled the girls' hearts and bodies finding out their boyfriends abandoned them. 

When the families saw the girls crying this was misinterpreted as crying from happiness. Being misinterpreted as happiness their families tried to hug them. Being touched by another person who wasn't the two people they wanted, angered the girls. 

"GET AWAY! DON'T TOUCH US!" Ember exclaimed as they pushed their families away. The girls pulled each other closer having a tight grip on the other. Both muttering various no's under their breaths. The families were taken back not expecting the girls to react like this to being back. Backing away one member suggested that they all go downstairs and give the girls some space. Thinking the girls were just overwhelmed with everything that had happened. 

The two girls didn't move until later in the evening when their bodies were exhausted from the stress and emotions they experienced. 

By that evening every news channel was broadcasting this miracle story of two girls going missing and being returned home one year later.

That night both girls lay on their separate beds. Both hadn't left their rooms. They stared up at the ceiling, bodies sprawled out in a starfish position, faces stained from crying, bodies numb from all the emotions they experienced. They held up their right arm as though they were trying to reach out for someone.

In the estate that night Xavier and Quin laid on their beds. Both are lonely, and cold without their girlfriends there. They stared up at the ceiling. Like the girls, they held up their left arm as though they were reaching out for someone.

At the same time, a promise was made between all four of them to their other half that night

Ember promised: "No matter what, I will find you"

Beatrix promised: "No matter what, I won't forget you"

Xavier promised: "No matter what, I will always love you"

Quin promised: "No matter what, I will always be with you"
