Pastry Pov

Pastry woke up on a soft mattress in a room that was unknown to her. Confused, but at ease she looked around. (This is probably Red Velvet's room..) She guessed it had to be, although she had no clue how she'd get here. Where was he? Pastry got up on her feet and let her eyes wander from one wall to another. Then it hit her, the faint memory of what happened. Along with it a growing panic formed in her.

(I passed out again.. Red Velvet must have left to tell everyone I'm not worth the effort.) Gradually even more terrible thoughts streamed into her head. (If I get kicked out of here.. I'll have no other place to stay.) Waves of concern came flowing in.

Pastry remembers how cruel things were back then. It's a place that still exists, but she wishes it was only in her mind. If she imagined it all maybe it would be better. If she never walked across those cold floors. If she pretends it was a made up lie, or a dream. Even if it would make her delusional, anything just so she doesn't have the bear the trail it left. But the memories just won't drown. Instead it's her that gets consumed by the endless sea of agony. No matter how far she tries to push the thoughts. They get pushed back every time. No prayer can save her from drowning in them, and no prayer can secure a calming answer to her question. (Is it already too late for me..?)

She got nervous and debated whether waiting for the answer to come is the best option. What if this really was the case? What if Dark Enchantress finds out that she's unfit to stay here? What if Red Velvet is let down by her? Where would she go? Pastry didn't feel at peace with her surroundings anymore. She would have gotten up if she hadn't noticed Red Velvet walk in and sit down next to her. It's better to ask than to wait for the inevitable...

Rv Pov

He was driven out of his little brainstorm by the sound of Pastry's voice. Red Velvet turned his head to see her sitting there looking right at him.

- Red Velvet?"

- You're awake already, good." He said and took his time to process her presence beside him. Red Velvet's head was still in the clouds, overthinking every step he took until he sat down. It was a relief there was only a weak spell in those jellies or else he'd probably continue.

- ..." She looked down at the sheets.

- Are you alright?"

- Did I pass out again?.." He could hear her voice tremble and tilted his head. Even if she didn't say it directly, he could feel her worry.

- Everything is fine now. Just one of Pomegranate's stupid ideas happened." Red Velvet didn't want to give her more reason to be concerned, but he didn't want to lie either.

- The jellies had a sleeping spell within them." When she didn't respond he quickly added;

- It wasn't intentional I promise you." The fact Pomegranate dared to do such a thing was infuriating. Not that she didn't do worse before. This specific event was the one that made him boil over the most.

- I believe you, it's not that. Thanks for them anyway, they did taste good." A small smile appeared on her face. He didn't know if the smile was forced or genuine but didn't want to take any chances.

- Pastry what's wrong?" Red Velvet observed Pastry like one would observe porcelain. Very detailed and delicate.

- Nothing's wrong, there's just a lot happening. It's more than what I'm used to.." Red Velvet lifted her head up with his cookiehand. She looked back at him with wide eyes.

- I know it was terrible where you came from, it's much better with us. I may sound like Pomegranate, but fate brought you here."

- M-mhm.."
