Leila woke up to the ringing of her alarm early in the morning. She got up and did her morning routine. By the time she was done Summer was also awake. Both girls agreed to take advantage of the morning and go run the track to wake up for the day.

"I can't believe we just ran 3 miles in 15 minutes, that's insane. I'm so out of breath." Huffed Summer who was bending over trying to catch her breath.

"Yeah, it was a good run." Leila grabbed her water. "I think ima head to the court for a bit though, is that fine?" she asked.

"Yeah, that's good. Ima go grab breakfast do you want anything? We can head to the room later and shower." Summer picked up her tote bag and put up her hair.

"Can you get me what I got yesterday? Thank you" Leila grabbed her ball.

"Yeah sure, meet you at the court at 20. Text me if anything."

The girls went their separate ways.

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"God, what happened to you?" someone walked beside Summer. She took out her AirPods and looked up. It was Matteo.

"Huh? Sorry, I didn't hear you." They continued to walk side by side, it seemed like he was headed in the same direction.

"I said, what happened to you? You look like you just went for a swim." He smiled as they entered the busy buffet.

"Haha, very funny, Morning run." She grabbed two plates. He only got one.

"Ohh how very athletic of you. I'm assuming you're here for breakfast?" They got in line.

"Yup. Since you're here, and don't seem to be doing anything, help me take this up to the court will you? Unless you're gonna eat." She pointed at his very empty plate although they had already passed all the food.

"Sure I'll help, don't have anything else to do." He put back his empty plate and took one off of Summer's hand. They walked back together talking about their plans for the day.

Leila dropped off her things and walked towards an empty court. She decided that this summer she was gonna grind so that she could be the best on her team. To her, that meant not skipping a single day, even if you were on vacation. She was dribbling the ball and warming up by making layups and 3-pointers when she felt like someone was watching. She turned to see the guy from last night smiling and waving at her. She couldn't remember his name but it was on the tip of her tongue. He walked over.

"You're really good, you play on a team?" he asked while signaling for the ball.

"Yeah, I do, do you play too?" She watched him dribble and noticed her bandana was wrapped around his wrist like a bracelet instead of on his bruised knuckles as she intended.

"Yeah, I play a little." He shot and missed, though he laughed it off.

"I can tell you are better than me though." He passed the ball back to her.

"Oh come on, you weren't trying. Play a game with me, there's no way you're that bad. He laughed and accepted the challenge. Leila was right. He wasn't bad at all. He was actually quite good. But after 3 rounds Leila still won. Although it was close.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Leila! Are you done? Sorry I took so long, This idiot dropped your food and we had to go back and get more!" Yelled Summer who was walking towards them, along with Matteo.
