Sunny woke up from his tranquil state, (I guess no headspace this time) staring blankly at his ceiling. He slowly emerged from his bed, wiped his eyes, and pushed himself off the bed. He then walked to the front door, and like yesterday, saw the group nearby, waiting for him. He was ecstatic to visit Kel's house for a sleepover next night. (What? Since when?) He stumbled towards them, still a little tired from getting out of bed.
Kel reminisced about the time they all went on a camping trip and how they had roasted marshmallows over a campfire. Aubrey talked about how they used to ride bikes around the neighborhood, and how Sunny would always beat them in races. Basil recalled the time they all went to the beach and how they had built a sandcastle that was so big, it attracted a crowd.
Hero, who was always the quiet one, listened intently to their stories and smiled. He didn't have many memories of his own to share, but he was happy to be there with his friends. (I guess Hero morphed into Basil?)
As they talked, Sunny began to relax. He felt comfortable around his old friends and started to open up to them. He told them about his struggles with anxiety and depression, and how he had been afraid to leave his house for fear of having a panic attack. (Huh? Mabye the AI should've gone to sleep.)
The friends listened patiently and offered words of encouragement, apart from Aubrey who just listened (Wow Aubrey, mean.), and reminded Sunny of all the good times they had shared and how much they missed him. They also told him that they were there for him, no matter what.
After a while, they decided to go out for a walk around the neighborhood. Sunny hesitated at first, but his friends were persistent, and he eventually agreed. As they walked, they talked and laughed, and Sunny started to feel more comfortable being outside.
They stopped at a nearby park and played frisbee for a while. Sunny was a little rusty at first, but he quickly got the hang of it. They also sat on a bench and watched the ducks swim in the pond, with Aubrey grimacing at the sight of the geese.
"Basil, you are really feeding those things bread?" Asked Aubrey, disgusted.
"O-Of course! I would rather treat the ducks and goose the same than only feed one and have the other follow us." Basil responded.
"They will follow us either way! Have you even seen their tongue teeth?!"
"I-I mean, it's cartilage, not teeth, but yes. It's kind of beautiful beautiful how they've adapted!"
"You never fail to disappoint me."
As the sky started turning a butterscotch color, they began to think it was the perfect time to go to Kel's house. He kept the comics in his house, so they didn't have to waste any time. Alerting the team, Kel skipped towards his house, slightly faster than the group. (Wasn't Aubrey the fastest?) They all arrived eventually, and sat on the couch. The first page was full of nostalgia, for Sunny at least. He remembered everything on that page, like he read it yesterday despite not even thinking about in 4 years. The 2nd page was vaguely remembered, with it introducing Space Boyfriend, one of his favorite characters. The rest of the pages were unseen, but still fun to read, not for nostalgia, but for the story. The evening slowly turned to night, and they began to scavenge for places to sleep. (Basil may be in for a fight. depends on what the AI says.)
(SUMMARY: Aubrey despises geese and the group are having a sleep-over.)
