The next day we set out to the west to check on the ghostly problem. It was actually pretty simple. There was a dark artifact, Band of Lightening that was sealed for 120 years. It was a ring worn by a strong magician whose power was beyond level 5. He was defeated by another stronger magician who trapped his soul with many other souls whom he had killed in his own ring. Yup it wasn't a hero who defeated him. The ring was buried under ground for several years but now the seal was broken by some unnamed person by mistake in the recent times.
The souls in the artifact turned into Fogbrute aka dark souls over time who were as thin as fog and disappeared when humans saw them. However they still managed to eat away at the livestock when people didn't see and most of the time people were afraid they will be eaten too.
The only way to get rid of the Fogbrutes was to either claim and control the ring's power or to destroy it. If you claim it then the souls that were attached to the dead magician will be freed and if it's destroyed they will again be free. In the novel Jimin destroyed it with his level 4 fire powers. Yup there can be more fire users. That's the reason he and Jungkook were friends too. Although Jimin was a strong fire producer and cultivator, he couldn't exceed the royal prince, Jungkook. So if compared, although both have the same level of fire powers, Jungkook is stronger.
They don't know how much of a big mistake it was by destroying it. Since it can be claimed easily. At least easy since I know how. And I will claim it for my own.
After a few hours we reached there and it was already evening. The people were happy seeing us and cheered for us. While Jimin prepared everyone in place I internally chuckled. It took them 7 days of almost sleepless nights until they found the ring and connected the dots. The fogbrutes were in great numbers near the ring and usually didn't disappear when they were near it. The ring was in front of a small brown hut.
"Brother I feel like I can sense the dark souls." I said after some time. "What are you talking about? I don't see any." Jimin said half sleepy. "Could you come with me? I am sure I can sense it." I added to make my story more believable.
"Alright, if you are that confident. Don't you dare sleep anyone! We will be back in a few minutes." Jimin added.I remembered the directions I wrote in the story and truly became happy as I reached the brown hut. "WHAT'S THAT!" Jimin screamed as he pointed at the dark souls circling the ring. "I knew it!" I added. "My doubts were true. I had my doubts that these souls are coming from some artifact and not by themselves." "SUNG-MIN STAY AWAY!" Jimin protectively pushed me aside.
"Trust me brother. I know what we should do." I added. "NO I CAN'T TAKE ANY RISK." Jimin scolded as he backed off ready to fire. "No brother they are souls not humans! They won't burn!" I added. "But they drink animal blood!" Jimin argued. "That is because it's the fear that scares and incites them. The more we fear the more they scare!" "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!" Jimin shouted as he got scared and confused.
"Because they are souls. Souls can't hurt us." I said making up stuff and used my power of wind at them with confidence. Although the wind was not too strong the souls screeched and vanished shocking Jimin.
