"Don't let them take me Dad!" were the last words I've ever said to my father. My name is Lemmeania and I'm about to tell you my life story... I had a happy life. I lived with my two brothers and one sister. My mom and dad were always there for us. As wolf humanimals, family meant everything to us. My parents made it clear how special we were to them. They would take us everywhere, show us new things, and make such delicious food. Our birthdays included so many family and friends. I remember I couldn't wait for guest to start arriving! It was a day full of wonder and joy! Every year, I knew when it was someone's special day as my parents cooked us a special morning breakfast. The only thing I hated was getting ready. Our two-story home only had 2 bathrooms, one we would use for the girls and the other for the boys... I remember fighting with my sister over ours a lot and my mom did my fur in it. What was it she would tell us while fixing it?

"Can't have nappy hair on Tuesday's, or you'll have another case of the Monday's!" That's what she said all the time! But she said it every day... why was it so special to me. My dad told me to not take anything for granted, so maybe that's why. After all, he knew that so well from his army days. My dad's war stories were told every night because... because my brother... uhm, wait... something doesn't seem right... Why can't I remember my brothers' names? And my sister? What was this place? My sight is getting blurry... Everything feels so fuzzy...I rubbed my eyes as hard as I could and opened them. The setting was completely changed. I can see myself floating in our backyard pool... Why is the water Black? Black... and quiet... I can hear my mom humming a soft tune as the water turned into a long flowing river. The sky above me began to shine dimly. As I squinted, I could see my sister laying in a bed next to me... it was a very faint image that illumined in the dark sky above me. What was happening? Was I floating down memory lane? While I continued down this cold-water stream, I could see how all my memories were always so peaceful... then I was six. The memory was so dark and screamed at me to leave it be. None the less, I was forced toward it as the black water stream turned into an upward waterfall. I was now within the memory, viewing it as if I were really there.

This was it. My final normal day. I woke up on my sixth birthday when two people showed up at the door. These were not the usual guest that came to my parties. I was drawn further into the atmosphere. It was a cold and dark morning as I heard my parents arguing with the strangers. Siting in a stair way, I felt chills coming down from my spine. I had never heard people argue so violently.

"We've waited too long already!" the strangers snapped. One was a tall and thinbird humanimal, and the other was a human. I was always scared of adult Humans. I looked down at my hands and clenched them tightly. Then I reached for the wall of the stair way. Everything's vivid now. This is happening. This is REAL. The smell of cigars, the taste of the tension in the air, the touch of the stair way I was in, the horrible sight of the messy doorway, and the sound of their sharp voices. I can see their suits. They were an army black color with weird tech attached to it. No helmets though... it looked odd. Humanimals never wore clothes unless they were working, so seeing a bird humanimal dressed in such a way was more of a strange sight. I saw how the strangers tried their hardest to look inside without making physical contact, but my parents seemed to be blocking their view from looking in.

"Please, just leave them alone. They're children for goodness' sake!" my dad said, he sounded like he wanted to cry. My mom was holding on tightly to his armalready with damped fur from her tears. It made me feel sick to my stomach... I felt like I was in immense danger. The strangers turned to face my parents with annoyed looks on their faces. It was almost as if they had seen my parents a million times.

"That's why we need them now! They are more likely to listen to orders now than when they're adults!" the bird humanimal explained, "Not only that, but we alsoneed them now to prepare a suit that is more likely to fit their fighting style."
