Something was dangling just out of reach. It stuck out well since it was gold unlike the rest of the black landscape. I realized that it was Pansy's bracelet. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Pansy and Theo sitting next to me, while Draco and Blaise were sitting in chairs nearby. Tom on the other hand was standing near the wall. "Maya" Pansy shrieked out of excitement after realizing I had woken up. "What's happening" I ask confused. "Professor Dumbledore told us to let him explain" she answered apologetically. Just then Dumbledore walked in and everyone else walked out. "Good afternoon, Amaya," said Dumbledore. I stared at him. Then remembered: "Professor! The Stone! It was Quirrell! He's got the Stone --""Calm yourself, dear child, you are a little behind the times," said Dumbledore. "Quirrell does not have the Stone."Then who does? I then realized that there was a table piled high with what looked like half of a candy shop "Tokens from your friends and admirers," said Dumbledore, beaming. "What Happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret, so, naturally, the whole school knows. I believe your friends Misters Fred and George Weasley were responsible for trying to send you a toilet seat. No doubt they thought it would amuse you. Madam Pomfrey, however, felt it might not be very hygienic, and confiscated it." When he said this I started to laugh "How long have I been in here?""Three days. Mr. Ronald Weasley and Miss Granger and of course your brother will be most relieved you have come round, they have been extremely worried.""Did you get Hermione's owl?""We must have crossed in midair. No sooner had I reached London than it became clear to me that the place I should be was the one I had just left. I arrived just in time to get you and your brother out of that place. I found you half on fire underneath a piece of what looked like the ceiling. " "I feared I might be too late." "What happened to the stone?" I asked curiously. " it has been destroyed.""Destroyed?" I asked blankly. "What about your friend Nicolas Flamel --""Oh, you know about Nicolas also?" said Dumbledore, sounding quite delighted."You all did do the thing properly, didn't you? Well, Nicolas and I have had a little chat, and agreed it's all for the best." "When did my brother wake up" I asked. "Oh just yesterday" he responded airily. "How long have I been out for." I ask. " 9 days" Dumbledore said and then looked at me as if waiting for my answer. "NINE DAYS" I yell shocked. "Sorry" I said after a couple minutes of calming down. "It's quite alright, my brain surprises even me sometimes.... Now ,enough questions. I suggest you make a start on these sweets. Ah! Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans! I was unfortunate enough in my youth to come across a vomit flavored one, and since then I'm afraid I've rather lost my liking for them -- but I think I'll be safe with a nice toffee, don't you?"He smiled and popped the golden-brown bean into his mouth. Then he froze and said, "Alas! Earwax!" "I should be in my way now" He said after a minute" Madam Pomfrey, the nurse, was a nice woman, but very strict."Just five minutes," I pleaded."Absolutely not. "You let Professor Dumbledore in...""Well, of course, that was the headmaster, quite different. You need rest.""I am resting, look, lying down and everything. Oh, go on, Madam Pomfrey...""Oh, very well," she said. "But five minutes only."And she let Pansy and Theo back ."Maya!"Pansy looked ready to fling her arms around me again, but I was glad she held herself in as my head was still very killing me."Maya, we were sure you were going to -- Dumbledore was so worried--""The whole school's talking about it," said Theo. "What really happened?" It was one of those rare occasions when the true story is even more strange and exciting than the wild rumors. I told them everything: Quirrell; the mirror; the Stone; and Voldemort. Pansy and Theo were a very good audience; they gasped in all the right places, and when I told them what was under Quirrell's turban, Theo looked shocked and went quiet. "Sorry, I forgot that he was your dad" I said apologetically. When he looked at me again I was surprised to see the smile on his face. " It's fine really. I never got to see him and he's Voldemort, if anything I should be thanking you" he replied. "Where do you stay anyway" I ask realizing I never found out. "Me and Tom stay at Malfoy Manor with Draco and his parents" he answered. "Flamel's just going to die?" Pansy asked when me and Theo were done speaking. "That's what I said, but Dumbledore thinks that -- what was it? -- 'to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure I always said he was off his rocker, and this is just proving me right" I said. "Why did you go anyway" Draco asked which startled me seeing as I didn't even now he came into the room. Feeling all eyes on me I made up an explanation. "Well, me and the Golden Trio get on okay and I snuck out of the dorms and making my way to the astronomy tower when I saw them sneaking somewhere so I followed them until I saw them going towards the third floor corridor. That's when I asked them where they were going. When they told me and asked me not to say anything I said I wouldn't because I was coming with them and wouldn't let them argue with me." I said quickly. "Yeah, Dumbledore's off his rocker, all right," said Draco obnoxiously. "Listen, you've got to be up for the end-of-year feast tomorrow. The points are all in and we won, of course and the food'll be good." Theo spoke up. At that moment, Madam Pomfrey bustled over. "You've had nearly fifteen minutes, now OUT" she said firmly. After another good night's sleep, I felt nearly back to normal. I want to go to the feast," I told Madam Pomfrey as she checked on my arm. I can, can't I?" "Professor Dumbledore says you are to be allowed to go," she said stiffly, as though in her opinion Professor Dumbledore didn't realize how risky feasts could be. "And you have a couple more visitors. "Oh, good," I said. "Who are they?" Hagrid sidled through the door as he spoke followed my Hermione, Ron and Harry. As usual when he was indoors, Hagrid looked too big to be allowed. He sat down next to me, took one look at me, and burst into tears. "It's -- all -- my -- ruddy -- fault!" he sobbed, his face in his hands. I told the evil git how ter get past Fluffy! I told him! It was the only thing he didn't know, an' I told him! Yeh could've died! All fer a dragon egg! I'll never drink again! I should be chucked out an' made ter live as a Muggle!" "Hagrid!" I said worried about him. "Hagrid, he'd have found out somehow, this is Voldemort we're talking about, he'd have found out even if you hadn't told him." "Yeh could've died!" sobbed Hagrid. "An' don' say the name!" "VOLDEMORT!" I yelled, and Hagrid was so shocked, he stopped crying. "I've met him and I'm calling him by his name. Please cheer up, Hagrid, we saved the Stone, it's gone, he can't use it. Have a piece of candy I've got loads...." Hagrid wiped his nose on the back of his hand and said, "That reminds me. I've got yeh a present." "It's not a rock cake, is it?" I said worried, and finally Hagrid gave a weak chuckle. "Nah. Dumbledore gave me the day off yesterday ter fix it. 'Course, he shoulda sacked me instead, —I got yer' brother one to— anyway, got yeh this..." It looked like a handsome, leather-covered book. I opened it curiously. It was full of wizard photographs. Smiling and waving at me were lots of people most I had never met. "Sent owls off ter all yer parents' old school friends, askin' fer photos... knew yeh didn' have any... d'yeh like it?" I couldn't find my voice but Hagrid understood. I made my way down to the end-of-year feast alone that night. I was held up by Madam Pomfrey's fussing about, insisting on giving him one last checkup, so the Great Hall was already full. It was decked out in the Slytherin colors of green and silver to celebrate Slytherin's winning the house cup for the seventh year in a row. A huge banner showing the Slytherin serpent covered the wall behind the High Table. When I walked in there was a sudden hush, and then everybody started talking loudly at once. I slipped into a seat between Pansy and Theo while sitting across from Draco at the Slytherin table and tried to ignore the fact that people were staring at me. Thankfully Dumbledore arrived moments later. The chatter died away. "Another year gone!" Dumbledore said cheerfully. "And I must trouble you with an old man's wheezing waffle before we sink our teeth into our delicious feast. What a year it has been! Hopefully your heads are all a little fuller than they were... you have the whole summer ahead to get them nice and empty before next year starts.... "Now, as I understand it, the house cup here needs awarding, and the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor, with three hundred and twelve points; in third, Hufflepuff, with three hundred and fifty-two; Ravenclaw has four hundred and twenty-six and Slytherin, four hundred and ninety-nine." A storm of cheering and stamping broke out from my entire table including me. I could see the golden trio looking like they were going to cry. "Yes, Yes, well done, Slytherin," said Dumbledore. "However, recent events must be taken into account." The room went very still. The Slytherins' smiles faded a little and I started to get really mad. "Ahem," said Dumbledore. "I have a few last-minute points to dish out. Let me see. Yes... "First -- to Mr. Ronald Weasley..." Ron went purple in the face; he looked like a radish with a bad sunburn. "...for the best-played game of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years, I award Gryffindor house fifty points." Gryffindor cheers nearly raised the bewitched ceiling; the stars overhead seemed to quiver. "Second -- to Miss Hermione Granger... for the use of cool logic in the face of fire, I award Gryffindor house fifty points." Hermione buried her face in her arms; I strongly suspected she has burst into tears. "Third -- to Mr. Harry Potter..." said Dumbledore. The room went deadly quiet "for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house sixty points." The din was deafening. Those who could add up while yelling themselves hoarse knew that Gryffindor now had four hundred and seventy-two points -- exactly the same as Slytherin. They had tied for the house cup -- if only Dumbledore had given Harry just one more point. Dumbledore raised his hand. The room gradually fell silent. "There are all kinds of courage," said Dumbledore, smiling. "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends. I therefore award ten points to Mr. Neville Longbottom." Someone standing outside the Great Hall might well have thought some sort of explosion had taken place, was the noise that erupted from the Gryffindor table. "Finally" the room went deadly quiet again. "For the use of impressive logic and being able to face the dark lord I award Miss Amaya Evans 60 points to Slytherin" The room was quiet for a second until it erupted in cheers from the Slytherins. Every Slytherin ever came up to me and shook my hand and congratulated me. Harry, Ron, and Hermione stood up to yell and cheer along with Stella from Ravenclaw and some other people I had become friends with . Fred and George were yelling my name as loud as they can ignoring Percy who looked like he was telling them to shut up. Mcgonagall was shaking Snape's hand, with a large, forced smile. She caught my eye and I was happy to see she was giving me one of her rare real smiles, which I happily returned back. It seemed as though life would be back to normal next year, or as normal as it ever was at Hogwarts. I had almost forgotten that the exam results were still to come, but come they did. I passed with full marks and was delighted when I found out I was tied second of the year- with Draco. All of my group got pretty high marks and even the Weasley twins got mostly E's and O's. Hermione of course had the best in the year. "Maya find a dress, there a end of the year party in each of the houses all on different days and we all are invited to the Hufflepuff and the Slytherin ones!" Pansy told me as I was looking for my earring. "I can get us into the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor one" I promised her. She screeched loud enough for a fifth year to run in and ask us if everything is okay, hugged me then ran off to go tell Theo. On the day of the Hufflepuff one (which was the first one) I wore a black dress that went above my knees with a bee necklace. I wore black boots some makeup and them put my hair up in a  half braid loop kind of way. I walked over to Pansy to find her wearing a long yellow dress with sparkles, her hair down with a black headband and a cute yellow jacket with black shoes.  "You look so cute" Pansy said smiling. "Thanks" I replied walking over to the door to find Theo wearing a yellow shirt with black pants. "Pansy" he said when he saw me, explaining why he's wearing a yellow short. I stifled a laugh and pulled him into the common room where I found everyone else waiting. "Come on" Pansy said grabbing onto my hand and pulling me and Theo out of the common room. When we got there Pansy immediately went over to the dance floor-- dragging me with her. I saw some 2nd year trying to get to the drinks but a older student found out and scolded him. When we finally got back Theo had to more or less carry Pansy because she was half asleep. After dragging her back to our dorm room and helping her get rid of her makeup shoes and dress I finally was able to rest. The next evening Pansy rushed up to me when I was in the library and said "I have a adorable blue dress, tell me you have something" "Of course I do, come on let me show you" I replied. I walked over to my wardrobe and showed her a full sleeve dark blue dress (the outfits and makeup is at the top). "We HAVE to get ready soon" Pansy said glancing at the time. After getting ready for the party we climbed up a million stairs (or at least it feels that way) and when we got to the top Pansy knocked on the door and the door spoke. "Here's your Riddle"
