Genevieve
I hung up and brushed my teeth. I tied my hair up and put on the sweater.
I'm keeping it simple today. I checked the time and it was 12.06 PM. I have enough time for brunch.
I grabbed the keys for my red Raptor and shoved my credit card on my wallet pocket. I made sure to put a small dagger on my bra.
I sat on my desk to locate where the Clarkson Company was. It was somewhere in Manhattan beside the UN Headquarters. I pursed my lips and walked out of my house, clicking in my keys to ring my Raptor.
I hopped in and drove off in top speed to a near restaurant for a brunch.
* * * * *
By the time I had parked my car near the Clarkson building, it was already 01.57 PM.
I walked down the streets with my shades and waved at some people I know.
I looked up at the building and sighed. I made my way inside and went to the front desk.
"Hello." The guy looked up and smiled, "Hello miss, may I help you?"
"Yes, you may. Is there Elizabeth Hart of Mr. Clarkson's schedule today?"
He clicked on the mouse, "Yes, miss, are you her?" I nodded, "Would you like to go in now? He just finished a meeting."
I nodded, he picked up the telephone and dialed. "Good afternoon Mr. Clarkson, I believe you have an meeting with Ms. Hart, am I correct sir?" He paused, nodding, "Well sir, she's already here." He paused again and jumped, pulling the phone away, "I'm so s-sorry sir, and I'll immediately inform her." He cringed again and apologized before putting down the phone gently. "Um...Ms. Hart, please go to the 78th floor and go left straight ahead, Mr. Clarkson is waiting for you." He said all too quickly. I nodded with a genuine smile, trying to comfort him before finally making my way to the elevators.
I nervously waited for it to reach up the 78th level; oddly, nobody had gone to take this elevator. I bit my lip when the doors slid opened, I walked out and saw an empty hallway.
Okay then.
I went left like what the guy in the front desk had said and walked straight ahead. Large double doors awaited me. A girl was in her desk, writing away. "Um...excuse me."
She suddenly jumped, "Oh, you startled me miss, may I help you?"
"Yes please, is this Mr. Clarkson office?" She blinked, "Are you Ms. Hart?" I nodded.
My heart jumped, startled when the girl quickly got out of her chair and ran to the double doors, "Please do come in!" She yelled in her nervous wreckage.
I raised an eyebrow; the doors opened and saw...him. Caramel-eyed man. Justin.
The girl bowed and closed the door when I walked in.
It was silent.
"Why the sudden meeting?" I asked.
His intense eyes narrowed at me, he stood up, motioning at the seat. I sighed, taking my seat. He sat back down.
"Ms. Hart. I wanted to ask you questions." Crap.
I stared, "Those questions are...?"
"Why did you have a gun from last night?"
I shrugged, trying to keep it cool. "Mr. Clarkson, for all I know. It's an option for protection."
He raises an eyebrow, tapping on his desk, "Do you have license?" Oh god...his voice.
Keep it together Genevieve!
"U-Um...yes. Yes I have." Great going.
He smiled lightly, "I want to see it."
"It's in my house." I said all too quickly.
"Where is your house?" Great going. Again.
"Nowhere that you should know." I coldly said. He slowly smirked, "Ms. Hart, as you should know, I was worried when I couldn't detect where you are after disappearing through the woods." The hell.
"Detect?"
He nods, "I tracked your phone."
I blinked, "Why the hell would you want to track my phone?"
"Just curious. You're...a mystery, exactly what everyone says."
"Everyone?"
"My friends." You mean, gang?
"What do you want with me Mr. Clarkson?"
He stared blankly, "Simple. Your heart."
My mind went blank. "My what?" This guy's a complete serial killer.
"I want your loving, dear Elizabeth Hart." I gulped. What is he on about? Is this a trap?
"Is this...a trap?"
He shook his head, "It is not a trap, Eli, and it's the truth. I want you."
I stood up. Turning away before walking. Without opening the doors, I was pinned with someone's body close to mine. My chest met the wall as his hard chest met my back.
I shivered.
"Let me go." I said in whisper. His breathing breezed on my ear. I shivered again.
"Let me go Justin!"
He chuckled darkly, lightly letting go before he spoke again, "Say it again." This guy is crazy.
"Let go-"
"Not that. My name."
Oh fuck.
He then leaned in, "Elizabeth." He whispered in my ear. I gasped before pushing the wall, shoving him off.
I turned on my heel and swung a hard punch at his jaw.
I didn't have the time to look at his expression. I opened the door and ran off.
Oh shit. Double shit. Just shit! What just fucking happened?
