So, I have this uncle. His name is Derrick. Derrick is in the Army. After he was in Afghanistan, he was stationed in Germany.
I just found out last night that he got injured. He is now paralyzed. He can barely move. In less than a week, I am going to Georgia to help him.
I'm gonna be staying there for about three weeks. Derrick has two kids with my aunt Diane. Logan is four years old. Tyler is eight months old.
After I stay with them for about three weeks, I am driving sixteen hours to Alabama to do community service for a week. I will be working at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, working inside people's houses and more.
I don't want to leave my uncle. But, if I don't, I won't be able to go to Alabama and work. I can't just not go to Alabama. I go every year. Last summer, I went to Africa with my friend Kelsey.
I never miss the service trip. But, I also never miss helping my family. I just don't know what to do. I could do both, but I will just be bailing on my family. I really don't want to do that.
But, it's too late to change the plans. I am going to help my uncle and I am going to Alabama. I just don't know how I am doing all of that.
