We awake to a bright light of white and yellow gleaming across the ceiling that held those hue's.
Izuku lifted the lids of his eyes slowly before flinching his entire expression into a squint at how suddenly bright the world was for his eyes, changing from a world of darkness and sleep, to brightly lit ceilings of the waking day. Even though he didn't really remember it, but he certainly felt it, the night was long, eighteen and a half hours to be exact judging by a clock that rested itself on the wall.
Slowly, and albeit stiffly if I might add, Izuku hoisted himself up with his good arm; groaning for each muscle string that he used as his arm pushed against the hospital bed he laid in. Pain was an understatement, he felt like a literal neutron star was dropped on his very being.
His eyes were still trying to adjust to the bright light, his pupils dilating to the best of their fatigued degree. He tried to rub them but was found with no movement whatsoever from the other arm, when he tried to once again use his good arm his mind forgot that it still supported him up so he fell back to the bed. It was a tempting offer to go back to sleep, but he ignored it this time and simply hoisted himself back up before using his feet and arm to scooch his back against the pillow.
Finally he could wipe his eyes awake and be free of the itchiness of fatigue that weighed over them. It felt relieving to do so, like he took a sip from an ice cold drink on a hot day. It was too bad that his entire body ached and throbbed, especially in two specific areas.
As his eyes fluttered, finally viewing the world that was around him, it slowly took him to realize that he was in a hospital room. Though, what was so different was how he was the only one in that room; he looked around and found not one other person sharing the same room. At first it didn't click with his brain...
Until he remembered what exactly happened. Stain, Todoroki, Ida, the Nomu attack...Shiozaki, all of it hit his mind like a freight train at full speed. With such floods of memories came the great worry of his friends, where they were, whether or not if they were alright, and why they weren't in the same room as he was.
The green haired boy shuffled his body towards the end of the bed and drug both of his legs over the edge, and which was where he also remembered something else. His leg was broken, and it was currently in a cast with around seven, maybe eight, layers of bandages applied around itself; seeing this also made him realize why his arm didn't rub his eyes like he wanted to, because it was also broken, and with similar amounts of bandages around it. The sight of them both made him frown in complete disappointment in himself, he'd just figured out a way to avoid doing this, yet he once again returned to this sight of white around his limbs.
All that, just to get his arm broken again, and now his legs weren't safe either. Even after such helpful words from his closest friend Shiozaki, he was once again left with this in the end. It almost felt like all that hard work was in vain.
Midoriya sighed before lowering his arm back to his lap and scooched himself forward, slowly he lowered both his legs, and wanted to metaphorically test the water before he jumped in. His bad leg first, he leaned forward a tiny bit; placing a small bit of pressure on that leg to make sure that if he intended to actually walk out of there, he'd rather do it without any excruciating pain the whole way. Within the cast he could feel his leg and foot move within the hard statue like cloth before feeling all of the bruises that he remembered being there, yep, it definitely hurt, but he needed to make sure all of his friends were okay, or at the least know where the were.
His plan was to find the nearest nurse, doctor, or whatever and ask them if they knew where any of them were being bedded and then quickly come and check on them. Which felt ironic even to him since he was more than sure the only person in worse status than him was probably Ida, but then again he wasn't sure since his wounds compared to his felt like they could weighed at an even leveling. But still, it was something he felt he needed to do.
