It seemed to Quinn that John Astrella grew taller and even more attractive now that they were getting closer, Daria and Jane stared at them from a great distance, Stacy's heart began to beat a lot faster than normal and meanwhile John and Anna continued with their chat.

"So, how are your parents, Coulthard?"

"Just fine, at least we have dinner together now, most of the nights" Anna explained, still unaware that the dangerous forces of Fashion were approaching from behind- "We plan to visit Vail next month! Let's travel together! Tell your dad, Astry!"

"Oh, too bad! I have to go back to Yosemite by then..."

Anna finally caught the sound of angry steps on the soft and wet grass, and then a low and hostile voice came to her all of a sudden...

"Gee, Coulthard" Sandi said, and Anna rolled her eyes as she turned around to face the girl that she was not exactly friends with- "Who would have thought? You, talking to John Astrella! After all, you are so lonely and boring at school..."

"Griffin! I see, Griffin and her cavalry... What do you want?"

"We were just passing by" Sandi continued, fully aware that the snarky Anna would not believe that for a second- "Then, we saw you two! Would you be polite for a change, and introduce us to your friend, Coulthard?"

"So, where's that unfathomably stupid friend of yours?" Anna laughed, and after that she proceeded to deliver a pretty good imitation of what Tiffany Blum-deckler sounded like- "Saaandiii, the foooreeesst miiight beee tooo co-old..."

"She doesn't really sound like that!" Quinn said.

"Oh, she kind of does, Quinn..." Stacy accepted.

"Gee, Coulthard" John intervened, and his voice, which was just as deep and charming as any girl would have expected given his near surreal looks, paralyzed Sandi, Quinn and Stacy on the spot- "Please, do introduce your friends here!"

"They are not my friends" Anna said as she looked back at him just for a moment, and yet she softened her attitude now that John had asked her to do this- "Anyway! This is Sandi Griffin, Mean Girl Number One in Lawndale High! This here is Stacy Rowe, my neighbor... and this is Quinn Morgendorffer, the dream catch for all boys in that place we call our school!"

Sandi, Quinn and Stacy were by now so excited to meet the famous ranger in person, and they were all of a sudden so star-eyed and shaky, that John realized exactly what was happening... it was not the first time, and also this was something that he really enjoyed.

Poor innocent girls... and yet, they could all have fun together, why not?

"That's great! Tell me, young ladies... Who wants to join Team Astrella today?"

"Yeah! Let's Go! Why not?!" the three Fashion girls said, one after the other.

"You know what? We have to take photos of the Woodslack campsite from above, Raven Rock! Which is exactly that place over there" John explained, and then his right hand pointed at a pretty huge and jagged boulder between the trees, which seemed like a pretty serious climb even from that distance- "Come with us! I wanna know Anna's not my friends for sure..."

"Oh, rock climbing?" Sandi asked, now not very sure about it.

"No Griffin, it's just a casual walk all the way to the top!" Anna explained, and her laughter this time was indeed a lot softer and quite friendly- "Yeah, come with us! We do not need to be hostile all of the time..."

"Let's go, Sandi!" Stacy asked- "Please!"

"I think it's a good idea..." Quinn added.

"Let's go, then!"

"Well! Let's get this show on the road, Coulthard!"

John Astrella led the way followed by a laughing Anna, and soon after that Sandi, Quinn and Stacy followed as well since they had no idea about the danger that awaited them.
