Marinette
"Dance with me."
My heart was pounding. I couldn't be sure if I heard Izuku correctly.
"M-Wh-what?"
He smiles and then pulls me closer to him and intertwines his other hand with mine.
"Dance with me, Marinette."
He twirls me around and I feel my cheeks heat up.
This could be one of the most romantic experiences of my life.
There is a slight patter of rain that starts to fall on us but Izuku keeps dancing with me. We waltz together in the moonlight and I can't help but look into his eyes.
I only see a warmth and a love that I hadn't ever seen from anyone else really. Maybe Luka but...
But this was incredible.
The amount of compassion and tenderness his gaze gave was something I didn't even know if my heart could really fathom at the moment.
I felt dizzy with romantic cliches. I couldn't help but imagine Izuku with me as my life progressed.
Deep down I knew that wasn't possible but I allowed my mind to flow free with the immense amount of futures and possibilities I was picturing.
It filled me with an ecstasy that was unlike any other feeling I had ever felt.
All I could do was laugh.
Izuku stopped for a minute and just stared at me with wide eyes. I wondered temporarily if I had done something wrong but he just parted his lips.
"You are absolutely beautiful."
He started to twirl me around again while keeping eye contact with me.
I smiled and as he continued to twirl me around in the moonlight I lifted my face up to the slightly pouring rain.
I pulled back and twirled in my dress and looked at Izuku. It started thundering just as I yelled at him.
"I think you're my ikegai!"
"What?" He asked, laughing as the rain poured down even harder.
I walked over to him and grabbed his face in my hands and smashed my lips to his, even if it was only for just a second. I looked up to the sky and then yelled again.
"I THINK YOU'RE MY IKEGAI!"
When my eyes met Izuku's I couldn't even describe what I saw in them.
"You're my ikegai." He says quietly. "Even if just for now."
I know we are both thinking the same thing. Our eternity of happiness would only be a small eternity of happiness.
We would be each other's ikegais in separate timelines, separate universes.
"Even if just for now." I whisper back.
I place my forehead against his and I can feel him laughing.
"We're crazy."
"And stupid."
"But it is totally worth it." He says as he captures my lips in his again.
I relish in this tiny eternity I have with Izuku. In this tiny moment where everything is perfect.
By the time Todoroki finds us on the balcony we are soaking wet.
"You guys are going to get sick." He grabs two towels and wraps Izuku and I in them.
I see him steal a glance towards Izuku and when Izuku's face grows red, I get a feeling Todoroki knows about us.
As I am closing my blinds I get a weird feeling. I look out into the now light rain and see a flash of green; then it's gone.
"Now what is this game you were talking about?" Todoroki asks.
I smile and forget about that weird feeling, and only focus on the happiness I feel with Izuku and my new friend. I smile at how happy Todoroki makes Izuku as I'm setting up the console.
"It's a fighting game. I would say I'm going to beat you and Izuku but considering I am always caught of guard by everything about you two than I'm gonna say that I'm not so sure if I'll win."
Izuku and Todoroki laugh and my mom and dad walk upstairs.
"We closed the bakery a little early, we wanted to play with you guys and get to know Shoto better- did you guys all shower? I'm surprised you were able to. Marinette takes absolutely forever." Sabine comments.
"Yes. Showers." Todorki says and I sense his smile.
Maman and Papa didn't have to know.
Not yet at least.
Because I knew they'd try to save me from the inevitable heartbreak that was to come.
