Is this the end?

Bakugo

3 weeks later

It wasn't something I think I could completely understand.

Love was a funny thing.

Crazy even.

And sometimes I think the things we do for love are even crazier than the concept of creating a universe out of someone within one.

I didn't think I believed in love until I saw the way Izuku's life changed when Marinette entered it.

When Marinette left it.

And even when she reentered it.

Again, it was a funny thing, this love thing.

I believe in it now.

Just maybe not for me...

"You ready to go, Deku?" Ochaco placed her small hand on Izuku's shoulder, her pinky delicately raised as to not send Izuku up to the heavens.

I watched as his green eyes trailed the small bakery we stood in front of.

"Just...one...minute."

I followed him as he walked into the bakery.

"Hi! Welcome in!"

I watched as his sad face instantly brightened. "Hello!"

He walked up to the counter and made friendly conversation with the blue eyed girl at the counter.

The door rung behind me and my eyes were met by cool blue and gray ones.

"He really loves her doesn't he?" I asked quietly. "So why...why do this to himself?"

I look at him laughing and smiling with his other half.

Or...the one who was temporary ikegai.

"Why would he...wish to never meet her?"

Icy-Hot shrugs. "I'm not really a feelings guy. So it only makes sense to me logically that if he wished he never met her, then this entire series of events would have never happened."

I nod and I watch as Izuku is handed a small bag of macarons.

"Do you think he'll be able to...move on?"

Todoroki shrugs. "I'm not sure that love...works that way entirely..."

Izuku turns to us and we walk out together.

"You...okay?" I venture to ask.

I expect a pause, a hesitation at least. But he just gives a soft smile.

"I'm...content." He looks down at the bag his fists are clenched around. "I know...that everything is going to be okay. Everything is gong to be great in fact. I'm sure of it."

"How? How do you know?"

"I just...do."

We meet up back with Ochaco and she checks one last time that we're ready to go.

Soon enough we are back in our own world.

We're greeted with a celebration.

Everyone swarms Izuku, as they always do when he miraculously is okay after something that should have killed him, doesn't kill him.

His reunion with that spiky haired Captain America wannabe (thanks to Marinette's taste in movies I gained a hell of a lot new nicknames) is wholesome, although I would never openly admit it.

I sat back on the couch as the morons who had nothing to do with this universe altering mission bombarded Izuku with questions.

He answered kindly, as he always did, but with a lack of the enthusiasm he always harbored in his voice when he talked about hero work.

I felt the weight shift on the couch next to me.

"You really think he'll be okay?" Icy-Hot murmurs next to me.

"How the hell am I supposed to know? You're the one who is his best friend."

Todoroki chuckles. "You would never admit it but you're his best friend too. As he is yours. And he is mine. Why cant we all be best friends? Marinette even used to call us the Three Musketeers. We'll be the top three heroes one day. Why not be best friends as well?"

He held out one of his hands with a calm smile on his face.

I hesitated before I shook it...

Okay. That was a lie.

I didn't even think twice before I shook it.

"Well you're gonna have to put up with my pestering, because even though we're friends now, I'm mean to my friends."

Todoroki laughed and he looked over at the bag of macarons that Izuku had brought across universes.

"Do you think food alters? Since we looked better in Marinette's universe do you think these macarons would looked even more delicious in ours?"

I shrugged paying attention to Eri chasing Izuku around.

Aizawa seemingly popped up out of nowhere next to me.

"I need to find Eri a babysitter." He mumbled.

"One that is immune to her powers I assume." Todoroki says as he starts unwrapping the macarons.

"Not necessarily. Just one that she likes. So she won't feel the necessity to use her powers."

He sighed and laid his head back on the couch.

Izuku finally walks over when he sees Todoroki has opened up the macarons.

"These look delicious!" He exclaims as he grabs one out of the box.

I feel the need to ask him if he is okay. To make sure that his smile will be true again, and not just one placard on his face to hide his heartbreak.

But I decided against it, because I figured he needed some time before I asked that.

Or at least I assumed.

But soon enough the words were slipping out of my mouth.

Izuku opened up the bag and let out a small little breath.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

I looked over his shoulder and see a small font scribbled on a sticky note.

Come back soon (◍•ᴗ•◍)

He smiles and he nods. "I'm...more than okay." He chuckles lightly. "More than okay."
