I couldn't get myself to fall asleep, so I decided to go out. I thought I'd chill in the lobby with only a vending machine as my company. Speaking of which, I bought some juice and sat down on one of the benches.

However, I noticed that the same elevator I went in had moved back up to the seventh floor. That was Horikita's floor.

Well, I was curious to see who it was, so I peeked a bit at the CCTV in the lobby. And lo and behold, it was the long black-haired beauty I was just thinking about.

It might've been a good time to invite her to some juice, but I felt like it would be awkward. Out of a weird instinct, I hid behind the vending machine as she exited the lobby elevator.

She looked left and right as if to make sure no one was around. It was a bit suspicious which made me curious.

She instantly vanished into the darkness, swallowed by the night like a shadow. I was still able to follow her and watched as she turned a corner which I immediately hid behind.

Horikita stopped in her tracks. However, she wasn't alone.

"Suzune, to think that you'd follow me this far," a guy said.

Suzune? First name basis? Could he be the secret boyfriend?

"...I'm far from the useless girl you once knew, Nii-san. I came here to catch up to you."

"Catch up to me, huh?"

So, Nii-san? The person she's talking to is her older brother? I couldn't see him, but could it be?

"I heard you were placed in Class D. 'Not the useless girl I once knew,' you said? I suppose nothing's really changed. You're so fixated on taking the same path as I am that you don't even realize how broken you are. Choosing this school was a mistake. Leave. Now!"

"That's...You're wrong! I'll reach Class A right away. I'll show you, then—"

He interjected, "It's pointless. As you are, you'll never reach Class A. In fact, your class will crumble into nothingness soon enough. Things aren't done normally here. Your weak character would never survive."

"No...That's not true...I will catch up with you. I'll definitely reach—"

"I told you, it's pointless. You really are so stubborn, aren't you, little sister?"

Horikita's older brother took a step closer to her. From where I stood, I was able to see his face clearly.

Just as I thought. It was the Student Council President, Horikita Manabu. I saw him during the club exposition. His face showed no emotion whatsoever. He stared at Horikita as if she was garbage.

Horikita Manabu grabbed his sister by the wrist. Horikita displayed no forms of resistance and seemed like she had no plans of doing so. Immediately after, Prez pushed her against the wall.

"No matter how much I try to avoid you, the fact remains that you are my little sister. Do you understand how much humiliation I would face if people found out that you're in Class D? I won't repeat this again. Leave this school immediately."

"...I-I can't do that! I have to reach Class A! I'll definitely show you!"

"How stupid. What would it take for you to just accept that you possess neither the ability nor the right to aim for something higher?"

"I..."

He moved forward as if he was about to do something. All my senses screamed that Horikita was in danger. Trusting my instincts, I dashed out of my hiding spot and locked my eyes on her brother.
