"What do you mean, Ike?"

With her words, Chabashira Sae gripped the atmosphere of the class to a halt. All eyes were now on Ike, the fool who dared challenging their teacher's authority—or perhaps—the valiant hero they needed to bring corruption into the light.

However, with those eyes and through those eyes, every single student of Class D judged Ike subtly—for better or worse. Yet, despite his seemingly controversial comment, Chabashira acted as if it was just a normal day at work, and that Ike was just an insect that disturbed the peace of her classroom. For a split second, her eyes widened but that did not make her any less intimidating. She stared at Ike like a lioness, patiently waiting for his response.

All the threat signals were directed at the lone boy who bared his fangs at the teacher in front. Pressure built up as the rest of the class started to become impatient. Any longer he takes and he might just be forced to answer.

"Chabashira-sensei," Ike finally spoke. "I think—no—I believe that everyone needs to hear some things before we start."

"Oh? And what are they? Surely they're important enough that you had to disrupt homeroom with such a comment?"

Ike took a deep breath as if trying to maintain his composure, repeating the words inside his head over and over just to make sure his thoughts will be articulated properly. With a push of determination, Ike let out his feelings like a waterfall.

"You see, ever since the start of this school year, you've made it clear that you don't give a single damn about us. We're in Class D because of being late, being absent, or what? Well, maybe in your  class! You don't care about anything except throwing insults at us about how dumb and stupid we are. Heck, maybe that's true but you're not any help. It pisses me off! When our points were supposed to be distributed, you looked like you enjoyed seeing us in pain for having no money to survive the month. Would any other homeroom teacher do that? They'd at least give us some sort of motivation or advice. You just keep calling us incompetent or whatever that word is. Now, our midterms are coming. You said if we failed, we'd be expelled. And yet, you gave us wrong info about the test! That's too much! It's like you want us to fail! The reason we're in Class D right now is you, Sensei! Not us!"

Ike finished his piece with a long breath of fresh air. Slowly, his shoulders relaxed and his breathing stabilized. It was as if an entire burden of negative energy had just been lifted off his chest. However, the issue did not end there.

The rest of the class looked at Ike like he was from a different planet. Horikita Suzune had a complexion that spoke volumes of how clueless she was to this side of Ike. The glint in her eyes might even tell you that she's worried.

However, aside that, there was a minority within the classroom that seemed to resonate with Ike's words. After all, Chabashira's cold treatment wasn't unique to the boy, but applicable to the entire class. The only difference was how each individual of Class D responded to that treatment.

"You know what," another student stood up.

This time, it was Yukimura Teruhiko. Curious eyes glean over in his direction. But rather than focusing on the influence of what kind of person Yukimura was—the standard stern, quiet, somewhat cool, intelligent, and unusually politically active student—and what he's about to say, the fact that such a student stood up to possibly add something to Ike's case was what's supposed to be mind boggling.

"Ike has a point, Sensei. Maybe you could brush off your cold treatment as part of protocol as there really isn't a need for you to become friendly with us. Acting cuddly would just be a waste of your time. But, the insults and comments you usually throw is taking it too far. Aside that, your negligence to inform us of the revised contents of the midterms might as well be the nail in the coffin. In other words, you're unfit as our homeroom teacher."
