Chapter 3: Dates

I slipped a few bracelets on my left wrist and checked how I looked in the full length mirror that hung on the back of my bathroom door. I fixed my shorts, pulling the bottom of them down a little. "Zoe! Someone is here for you!" Zac yelled from the living room. I grabbed my small purse off my bed and left my room, giving myself one last glance in the mirror.

"Listen here. I have a gun right in that room," Zac said, pointing to his bedroom. "And I will not hesitate to use it if you hurt my baby sister in any way," he said, causing Louis to gulp hard.

"Zac!" I exclaimed, glaring at him. "First of all, he doesn't have a gun and second, he's as strong as a hamster, remember? Come on, let's go," I said, grabbing Louis' arm and leading him out the front door.

"I might not have a gun but I have a foot!" Zac yelled as we got into Louis' car. I rolled my eyes as he started it and pulled out of the driveway.

"Sorry about that. So what are we doing?" I asked, going through the different radio stations.

"Going on a picnic," he said, heading towards the park. He pulled into the park and, like a gentleman, he came to my side and opened the door for me. He grabbed the picnic basket and held it in one hand, holding my hand in the other.

"Where are we going?" I asked, a little bit confused.

"I told you that we would go to the waterfall for our second date to go swimming. Do you not remember?" he asked, helping me up the same rocks that we used the day before.

"I'm surprised you remember that," I said, making myself comfortable on the rock ground behind the waterfall. "So what shall we be having for lunch today?" I asked, crossing my legs.

"Well first," he started, opening the basket. "We have some strawberries, some sandwiches, which I made Liam make, and some cookies that I just picked up at the grocery store."

I laughed and shook my head at him. "Sounds delicious," I said, picking up a strawberry. "And these are my favorite fruit, just for future reference," I added, popping the strawberry into my mouth.

"I'll keep that in mind," he said, treating himself to one. I scooted to the edge of the rock and stuck my feet into the water as I enjoyed one of the sandwiches.

"Tell Liam that these sandwiches are good," I said, leaning against Louis when he sat down next to me. He laughed and kissed my hair, causing me to freak out a little. On the inside, of course.  Once we were done eating, we put everything back in the basket and set it to the side. I took my shirt off, leaving me in my bra, and looked down towards the bottom of the waterfall.

"You going to jump with me or am I going to have to go out on this one on my own?" I said, looking at Louis, who stood there, staring at me. He quickly fumbled with his clothes, stripping down to his boxers, and joined me at the edge of the rock.

"On the count of three?" I asked, looking at him.

He nodded. "One," he said.

"Two," I said.

"Three," we both said before grabbing each other's hands and jumping down to the bottom of the waterfall, riding the rushing water of the waterfall. I was quickly submerged once we hit the bottom, kicking my legs and pushing myself to the top.

"Louis?" I asked, looking around and not seeing him anywhere. I kept looking around and still, there was nothing. "Louis?!" I exclaimed, starting to freak out. So many people would hate me if this is how Louis died. I swam to the more shallow end, where I was able to touch the ground, and looked around again.

"Lou-," I was cut off by someone grabbing me from behind and spinning me around, tossing me back into the water. When I came to the surface, I saw Louis standing in the shallow end, trying not to laugh at me. "Louis! You, you, you jerk!" I exclaimed, trying not to use any curse words. "I thought you had drowned or something. Don't do that to me!" I said, splashing him.
