A sound. A scream. Fear.

This chilling tension in the air could be felt from where I sat, chained away from the world. Why did I just wait?

I heard them coming. The footsteps echoing down the hall as the demon neared. When they were right before the door, the sound vanished, quiet as though they were never there. The door began to creak open and a shadow cast into the room. Devilish eyes met mine and for a long moment, neither spoke. Then she grinned, grinned larger than I ever expected anyone to grin. "There you are. You had no idea how much of a pain in the ass it was to find you!" She giggled, storming inside as though she owned the place.

I could smell blood on the stranger, the irony scent that became visible upon her clothes. Of course, she killed the scientists. Why did something like that not surprise me?

I could sense the malice already.

"You're Izuru Kamukura, aren't you? I totally called it! Hey, hey-" The girl's eyes went wide. "You'll help me, right? I tooooottally need someone like you on my side." Without warning, her arms were tightened around my body. This girl... I couldn't stand her. I raised my leg and kneed her in the stomach, causing her to stagger back, surprise over her face for only a moment before she grinned once more. "Ahh I see. You're so cruel, you know? Well, okay look. I need your help. You will, won't you? To spread despair over the whole world, you're perfect for the job!"

"Not interested." I closed my eyes. Everything about her disgusted me. Her scent was vomit inducing, her looks were annoying enough but that voice... It made me angry. The girl released a long, drawn out groan. "They said you'd be difficult~ Heyyyyyy..." A sneer made its way to her face. Once filled with an emotion that made even me feel somewhat worried for a moment. "You've never left this room, have you? How long has it been? Months, right? It's not fair." She shook her head, blonde ponytails waving with her movements. "I'm willing to offer a deal."

"Deal?" My attention was finally grabbed. Was this going to be some entertainment for once? I could smell her, how disgusting she was. Her very soul was tainted with despair, like a black ooze.

"Name's Junko Enoshima, charmed to meet you, Ultimate Hope!" The girl offered her hand out but I didn't make a move to grab it. I didn't want her near me.

Finally at a point, Junko realized I wasn't going to accept the gesture so she crossed her arms. "Okay look, here's the picture. My plan needs a.... Little work. So while I set up, you can go run around like an excited mouse and you'll help me when i'm ready. Seem fair? Your freedom..." Her voice lowered to a whisper. "For my despair."

Her lips curled to a pout as she took a step back, letting the light from the hallway seep into the room as though it was calling me. "Soooooo?" Junko's annoying voice cooed. I was bored, so very bored. Tired of it all, but perhaps being out there... Would be... Interesting. Without realizing it, I was moving towards the door, and bathed in the light.

I heard laughing behind me, and turned back to check on Junko but when I did, the room was empty, and the girl had vanished as though she never existed.

The silence, the loneliness, was this my destiny? Was I to be alone forever?

I found myself wandering the halls that seemed to have no end. I was already growing annoyed by all the walking that seemed eternal until I caught sight of something... Strange. Of course, not really strange. Only unexpected at this certain area. I had heard the screaming, but I wasn't quite sure how gruesome the death was. It was as though the scientist's insides had been completely torn from his body, and the lack of eyes were unable to show his fear of death that was now frozen upon his face. It took a moment to realize I had already stepped in the warm blood and leaving a trail as I moved. It would be troublesome if some worried citizen began to follow me, so I would need to clean that off eventually. Beyond him was an iron door, much like the one I had gone through when I first arrived in this depressing maze. As I stepped over the body and opened the door, I found myself in yet another strange room. Smaller, and with more color, but just as silent. A fan buzzed from the corner of the tiny room, making the papers on the wall gently wave with the cool air.

Upon a small desk sat multiple computer monitors, but the guard that was supposed to be watching, now sat in a bloody mess on his chair. How many did Junko kill? How many fell for her to free me?

My eyes landed on the screens as I realized something was... Off. These screens weren't just any computer. As I moved closer to inspect them more, I discovered multiple camera footage playing at once. Not only of the hallways I had just been down, but the lab I recall awakening in, outside, and Hope's Peak itself.
