Red.And stillness.
My heart couldn't stop racing, causing myself to begin panting like some sort of animal.
But no.
I wasn't going to prove this lowly, pathetic man get the better of me.
With a final, heavy breath, I released him, slowly lowering the headmaster to the ground. His face seemed to mix with all emotions.
I could see fear, confusion, but the one that overpowered the others showed itself with a smug smirk.
"You're really trying hard not to kill me because you know what'll happen if you do, right?" He muttered, keeping a still, rather stern look. "Just do it if you're going too. Snap me in half. It'll be over in less than a second."
"Pointless." I found myself turning away. There was nothing to be gained staying here and being antagonized by a man like this. As I made my way to the door, my name was called, echoing around the office. Stopping in my tracks, I didn't look back. I could hear shuffling as the headmaster moved up behind me. "That's a problem. You see, you're supposed to stay a secret. I can't let you leave the academy."
"Are you going to try to eliminate me?" Closing my eyes, I lowered my head slowly.
"No." The response was almost immediate. "I know I don't stand a chance. I'll add you to one of my classes and see how long you last. It'll be risky but..." He moved around me to meet my eyes. "I don't really have a choice right now. I didn't expect you'd find me after you got out. You just need to keep your identity a secret." The headmaster narrowed his eyes and attempted to scan my face, but I felt nothing. Nothing he would be able to find. It all seemed annoyingly boring. I didn't want to stay here longer than I needed too. I couldn't stand looking at this man any longer. I pushed passed him to get towards the door, and as I reached for the handle...
"The Steering Committee. They're all dead, aren't they?"
"I already told you. I had nothing to do with their deaths."
I hadn't heard that name since I woke up. It still left a bad taste in my mouth upon hearing it.
The headmaster moved up beside me and grabbed the doorknob instead, lingering there as if he were deciding whether to open it or not.
"Of course you didn't. So who did?"
Junko... I'll keep that a secret for now, instead changing the subject.
"Who were they? Why did they make me?"
"I can't tell you yet." The man bit his lips. "The Kamukura Project needs to remain under wraps, even from you. Perhaps when it's safer." Before I was able to ask another question, he pulled open the door and I was face to face with Chisa again, giving a warm smile. "I waited right here, just like you said!" The teacher giggled.
Clearing his throat, the headmaster gestured in my direction. Everything about the situation was so dull, I thought I would die of boredom. There was no point to school at the moment. I knew everything that was taught, would be taught, and would never be taught in a school.
Perhaps I would stick around for a little time though, if only to meet the ultimates.
"Chisa, this is Izuru Kamukura." He began. "From today on, he'll be joining your class. Treat him well, will you? He's a little bit different that the other students."
I snapped my eyes to look at him, only to see the headmaster innocently smiling at her. She seemed to understand, or so she assumed, and offered her hand out. "I'm so happy! It's nice to meet you."
Should I take her hand? What would she think about my icy touch? There was no point, honestly.
I accepted her hand and she gave a small shake before pulling back, acting as though she didn't notice it. "I'll show you to my room. Follow, follow."
Once again, I found myself being led down another hall. Walking behind the teacher, I took in ever feature from her. Long orange hair, pulled up into a wavy ponytail. Upon her head sat a small piece of a maid's uniform. The more I looked, the more I could figure out her talent. Her apron over her dress, the small head piece she wore. A maid, correct? Or close to it.
Apparently she noticed my staring because Chisa turned back and gave a smile. "I haven't properly introduced myself, right? I'm Chisa Yukizome, the Ultimate Housekeeper. Just call me Ms. Yukizome now though, 'kay?" She giggled once more, her sunny attitude making me feel something I hadn't before. Annoyance wasn't the right word, but neither was calm. How could I not know?
Was this what the headmaster spoke of? Removing my emotions, correct? "Welp, here we are! Class 77!"
