Kazuma: Every single time... Every single quest we do, we always end up failing miserably. Why...? Is it because I'm too weak...? Or is my party just that bad...?
The party went on to do a lot of quests but each one they do, they fail miserably every time.

After a miserable day of adventuring, they all went back to the mansion to taste Chousuke's cooking once again.
Darkness: Your cooking never ceases to disappoint us, Chousuke. This is delicious!
Zoren: At least it's better than the food they serve at the guild...
Megumin: I can eat this all day long~
Aqua: Same here!
Kazuma just quietly ate his food thinking about what Zoren said back then when they fought against Verdia, the dullahan.
Zoren: Hey, Kazuma.
Kazuma: What?
-FLASHBACK-
Zoren: Ever thought of training with me?
Kazuma: Hell no! What makes you think I'll stand a chance against you?! You literally took down a Devil King general!
Zoren: [sighs] You don't remember?
Kazuma: Remember what?
Zoren: You said you wanted me to teach you martial arts.
Kazuma: Oh, y-you're talking about that? U-Um, I think I'm fine on my own. I'll think about it though.
He lives with the fear that Zoren would absolutely demolish him in a fight low difficulty.
Zoren: No. I assure you that you need to learn. There might be times where I might not be there to save you, so you need to let me train you.

Kazuma: Maybe I should take up Zoren's offer and train with him. That way, at least I can do something to help with this disabled party instead of relying on Zoren.
Megumin: Kazuma, Kazuma.
Kazuma: Y-Yes?! I-I mean, Kazuma here.
Megumin: You seem unusually silent. Did something happen?
Chousuke: Yeah, you were just silently eating. Is my cooking not good enough for you?
Kazuma: N-No! There is nothing wrong with the food, Chousuke! It's just that... I'm just lost in the thought that's all!
Chousuke: I see. Well whatever your thinking about, just make sure to eat the food while it's still hot.
After dinner, Kazuma just sat outside the mansion staring at the sunset, contemplating whether or not living his life as an adventurer is worth it.
Zoren: Kazuma!
Kazuma: Zoren...
Zoren: What are you doing all the way out here?
Kazuma: Oh, you know, just staring at the sun, nothing much.
Zoren: Hmm...
He sat down next to him.
Zoren: Is there something that's going on in your mind right now?
Kazuma: Zoren.
Zoren: Hm?
Kazuma: Do you remember the time I asked you to teach me martial arts when we were reincarnated here into this world along with Aqua?
Zoren: Yeah, I still remember that. Why do you ask?
