"No way," Lucy exclaimed as she looked down at the laptop before her. Lucy sat in her and the Master's bed, her back against the headboard and her laptop resting on her legs. She had opened her email to see an email from a
"What is it, Lucy?" The Master asked, his head poking out of the bathroom, his toothbrush still in his mouth.
"I'm being asked to play at this benefit this evening. The Lazarus Project." Lucy explained, sighing in annoyance. "Why couldn't I have been called in earlier?"
"Then you can come with me." The Master stated as he walked out of the bathroom, sitting on the bed next to her. He looked at Lucy, smirking as he imagined her entering on his arm and the jealous stares that he would get.
"I can't. I have to be there earlier so I can get ready to perform and everything." Lucy explained as she jumped up and began walking towards the music studio that they had. The room was messily organized, with musical scores all over the floor and stacks of music sheets surrounding the room. Lucy walked into the middle of the room, picking up her violin, and began tuning.
"What are you playing?" The Master asked as he followed his wife into the studio, picking up some music sheets off the armchair in the room and placing them on the table next to him.
"Apparently they were planning on playing my Prydonian Chapter album. 'The Speeder' and 'Glass'." Lucy explained as she began playing the songs in question. Her chin rested on the violin as the bow moved across the violin's body. (Reference: Murray Gold's 'The Speeder' & 'Up the Shard')
The Master leaned back in the chair, closing his eyes as the drums in his mind dulled and the sound of the violin was the sole thing that he could hear. Too soon for his liking, the music stopped and Lucy began picking up some music sheets and heading back toward their room.
Lucy stood before her wardrobe as she looked through her dress, attempting to find one that was suitable enough for her performance. Lucy picked out a long, off-the-shoulder dress and decided to forgo her usual jewelry and kept it simple with studded earrings and no necklace. Lucy had placed her violin in its black case and had placed extra music sheets in the lining pocket in case of an emergency. As she headed towards the front door, The Master stood beside her, holding it open for her. Standing outside was one of the guards the Master had hired, a blank expression on his face. Lucy followed the guard towards the car, the Master holding her waist as they walked down. The Master pulled open the passenger door and Lucy smiled slightly before sitting inside, the guard placing her violin case in the boot of the car.
"I'll see you tonight then, darling," Lucy stated as she closed the passenger door and was driven to Lazarus Laboratories. In around 2 hours' time, the Doctor and his companion would be in the same room as the couple for the first time... For them at least.
