The nurses wrapped up his arm, and he continued sleeping after that. A dreamless sleep.

"Test his blood. He may have a hallucinogenic substance in his system." Scully half suggested to the doctor who came in with her.

"Possibly. But he could have an undiagnosed sleeping disorder." The doctor proceeded to explain.

"I doubt it, I feel as though I would have known." She said as she sat next to Mulder, on the end of the bed.

She rubbed his hand comfortingly. Please be okay. She thought checking the machines that showed his vitals, continuously beeping.

He woke up a bit dilerius slurring through his words. "Scul..Mm..The Aliens.." He struggled to say as he squinted, looking around the sunlit room.

Mulder agreed to get his blood checked as he fully woke up. "It'll help us know what's wrong."
Scully explained.

He just nodded in response as he eyed the needle going into his veins.
He winced slightly as it began draining a small amount of blood.

"I'll go test this now and get back to you in a few hours." The doctor said as he put a bandaid on Mulder's inner elbow and left the room.

"Wanna get some fresh air?" Dana suggested raising her eyebrows. Trying to lighten the mood.

He turned to look at his partner. "Yeah, that'd be nice." Fox replied with a small smile.

So He changed back into his clothes from the evening before. And they went to a trail just outside of the hospital.

The weather was okay, clouds covered the blue sky, but it was warm, and sunlight was starting to peak through the clouds. It was around nine in the morning, and the agents were already tired and stressed.

Trying their best to calm their nerves, they walked in silence for a little until Scully innocently got curious, "Hey, um Mulder?"

He looked up from the ground, briefly snapping out of deep thought. "Yeah?" He responded casually. Dragging his shoes on the pavement.

"You don't have to answer.. but what exactly did you see happening in your dreams?" She continued as they stopped to sit on a bench next to the path.

He sat down and ran his hands through his hair. "It was a lot." He thought out loud, his head now resting on the back of the wood.

Scully didn't interrupted, she knew it'd be a tough topic. Seeing him in that state was new for both of them, and besides that, he never talked about his abduction experience in detail.

"There were aliens everywhere. Dozens of them, some green, some gray. They had his empty dull look in their big eyes, like they wanted nothing more than to hurt me." He paused, letting the both of them soak in his vulnerable words.

"Then they locked me up and started doing tests. Relentlessly. Scully, it felt so real.." He trailed off, lifting his head and holding his arm, still covered in bandages.

"Mulder..do you have any ideas on how you were actually wounded? It doesn't make any sense to me." Scully looked over to him, pity in her eyes as he stared at the ground.

He let go of his arm and brushed his thighs. "I'm not sure. But I'm afraid. I don't want to sleep again, I don't want to hurt you." He finally made eye contact with her after letting out a heavy sigh.

"Or him." His eyes drifted down to her pregnant belly before he looked away guiltily.

"Mulder, it's not your fault. We're fine, trust me." She began and held the hand of his closest to her. "You couldn't control it."
