Three

The next day, Clara was excited for the first game of the season. She smiled as she had everything ready to take Mara-Belle to daycare. "Jenna, I have to leave early." She says walking in. "I have an early start today and need to get things ready for the game."

"Clara, how are you always busy?"

The oldest Gilbert shrugged as she walked over of the kitchen with an empty sippy cup. She didn't care much about how busy she stays, but it's not going to be like that long. She misses spending time with her daughter. "Let's go, baby. Mommy has a lot of work to do and today is the last time I will be busy."

Once Clara dropped Mara-Belle off, she went straight to work. She noticed a message from Caroline causing her to read it and become worry. There were somethings that her sister, Bonnie and Caroline doesn't know, but she does. There were vampires. The only thing was that she won't kill unless they are redeemable. Something her father never understood why she thought differently unless she sees the good in some people. Yet, her father had her kill the good ones because he thought they were evil, but she hasn't seen a vampire in a long time till the Salvatores came to town.

She's going to do right and get to know them unless there is someone killing. Then she'll kill.

"Miss. Gilbert?" She looked at Stefan and smiled. "Is there something wrong?"

"Actually, I need to speak to you later. It's nothing bad, but it's something you should know."

"About."

"You being a vampire."

Stefan followed her. Clara looked around before going into her office with Stefan. "How?"

"Stefan, my family comes from a generation of vampire hunters. The first one is Johnathon Gilbert, but the last one is my daughter after her uncle. Right now, I want them to stay out of this till their destiny is discovered." She tells him. "I'm a hunter myself, but I'm different. I want to see a change in you guys before I kill you because I know there are good and there are bad vampires. I hope you're the good one."

"I am. I need to warn you about Damon."

Clara looked at him and nodded as she will listen and focus on what he has to say, but she will see if Damon is a bad person too because he seems to be a good man, especially with her daughter.

Something wasn't right. Clara didn't know where her captain is. "Ladies, does any of you know where Caroline is?"

No one said a word causing Clara to sigh as she dialed Caroline's number. Elena grabbed her sister and turned her around for her to see Caroline with Damon causing her to march over to him. "Get to practice, Care."

The blonde nodded as Damon smirked. "Hello, Clara."

"You do know she's fucking seventeen." She states. "Caroline is off limits to you and way out of your league."

"She needed a ride."

"I don't believe that." She says walking away. "Stay away from Caroline."

Damon watched the oldest Gilbert go back to the cheerleaders. One thing Caroline was right about. Clara Gilbert is one stubborn woman. He was going to have some fun with Clara Gilbert.

That night, Clara was cooking when the door opened. Mara-Belle squealed out as she saw her aunt and Bonnie. She stood up. "Lena." She squealed as she ran to her.

"There's my little girl." She says picking her up. "Where's mommy?"

Just the smell had Bonnie going to the kitchen. "I want to call you mommy if I can get that food."

Clara looked and smiled. "Why are you here, Bonnie?"

"She's having dinner with us and Stefan." Clara gave her a look. "I want her to know him."

"You barely know the man." She says as she grabbed plates causing Bonnie to grab them. "Bonnie had a reason and she's just looking out for you. Maybe you should take your time with him because if he is hiding something, I don't want you to be afraid of whatever that could be." They heard the door bell ringing.

"Clara, I can take care of myself."

Bonnie looked at her as Elena left the kitchen to answer the door. "You believe me."

"Bonnie, I may be 22, but I will tell you now, there is somethings that none of you know." She tells her as she saw Stefan. "But, I don't judge people either. I just won't my sister to take her time with Stefan to make sure that is who she wants."

Bonnie nodded as she set up the table. "Mommy?" Clara looked down and smiled as she picked her up.

"Yes, my darling." She pointed at Stefan and nodded. "He won't hurt you."

Mara-Belle snuggled closer to her mom as she just wanted her mom. She walked out of the kitchen and looked at her sister. "I have a sleepy toddler, would any of you mind getting the food?"

"I'll help." Stefan says.

"Thank you."

Bonnie looked at Elena who shrugged at how fast Stefan answered. Clara sat on the couch holding her daughter.

Half an hour later, Clara was watching tv with a sleeping Mara-Belle in her arms. Damon saw the woman he was wanting to see and sat down to see a sleeping Mara-Belle. "Someone fell asleep."

"I have to give her a few minutes because one move and she wakes up and you have to start all over again."

"May I?'

Stefan watched Clara hand her daughter over to Damon and lead him up to the baby's room. Clara looked at Damon. "I don't know why you are with Caroline, but you seriously need to stop whatever you are doing. She's only seventeen." She tells him as she walked into Mara-Belle's room.

"I'm not doing anything. It's more like asking her questions."

Clara watched him lay her daughter down before she walked away with him behind her. She didn't say anything as she went down to the kitchen to clean up causing him to follow her. "Why are you following me?" She asked as she started the sink water.

"Because you are interesting."

The oldest Gilbert looked at him and saw how close he was standing to her. "Interesting? What's so interesting about me beside me being a single mom." She says as she leaned up. "Why don't you answer that?"

Damon put his hand on her cheek till they heard someone clearing their throat. The two looked to see Bonnie causing Clara to smile.

At the game, Damon saw the one Gilbert girl he was waiting for. Clara parked her car and got in the back to get her daughter out. She told her Caroline to start as she was going to be a little late. She put her little girl down and turned around just to scream out. 'Don't do that!" She tells him. "Now what do you want, Damon?"

"It's not what I want." He tells her. "It's what you want..."

"Compulsion doesn't work on me." She tells him. "I wear vervain and my daughter drinks it."

"How?"

"Long line of hunters, but I'm not like them. I expect that you are different from those that I have killed before." She says standing up and barely touching her lips to his. "But if you're not like what I hope, then I'll have to kill you. It would be a shame though."

Damon looked at the person who pulled on his hand causing him to look at Mara-Belle. "What about your daughter though? She seems fine with me."

"That's why it would be a shame to kill you." She says shutting the door. "You are the only person my daughter has ever looked up too." She locked her door and looked at him. "Whatever happened between you and Stefan will be resolved, if you allow your heart to move on."

Damon watched the mother daughter duo leave causing him to think about what the beautiful woman had said. Her daughter likes him and that's something he never thought of was being a dad, but he has to see if Katherine is in the tomb first. "Maybe Clara can help me."

So, I have huge plans for this story. No, Elena doesn't fall for Damon, but she does get jealous as she sees the love that Damon has for her sister that Stefan could never show to her. Also, Tanner's death still happened, but I'm ending it like this. So you know that Clara is upset about his death. Do you think Clara will find out the truth of why Damon is back and torturing Stefan? Can Clara and Mara-Belle redeem Damon? Till next time.
