Seventeen

A storm has come to Mystic Falls and Clara and Jenna was making sure everything was closed, covered and possibly boarded up. "Clara, how was your date? I forgot to ask."

"It was wonderful, Mara-Belle truly loves Damon as her dad and I'm grateful that he doesn't mind her calling him daddy."

Jenna nodded as she looked at Clara. "What about you? Don't you have feelings for him?'

Clara stopped as she never thought that she will get ask that. She never thought she would fall in love ever again till she met Damon. Looking at her aunt, Clara gave her an answer that shocks not just her, but Elena as she wanted to speak to her sister. "I didn't think that I would ever fall in love ever again. That was till I met Damon. Getting to know him and seeing how he is with Mara-Belle, he made it hard not to fall in love with him." She tells her as she looked at her daughter who was playing. "Damon shows me so much respect and he sees Mara-Belle as his daughter."

"Have you told him how you feel?"

Shaking her head no, she walked over to her daughter. "We kissed the night after I won him from the bachelor party just for little miss Elena to ruin it. The rest of that night we danced. Since then it's only been kissing because... I don't know why."

"Maybe it's not the right time for you two to continue." She tells her. "And Elena, she needs to see she is a teenager and Damon is a grown man who truly wants to be with you not her."

Elena couldn't believe why she was getting talk about like that. She just wants what is best for her sister and niece. She's not another Katherine, but apparently, with the way she is acting, people see jealousy and she's not jealous. She doesn't want Damon, she doesn't want to be turned. Realizing what she has been doing is showing that she has feelings for Damon when she doesn't. Walking away, Elena decided to call Stefan.

Arriving at the Salvatore's, Clara parked her car and got out to get Mara-Belle. "Pearl came by to make a deal with Damon."

"And?"

"He didn't make no deal." Stefan tells her as she got Mara-Belle out. "I was shocked, but he said he wasn't putting you and Mara-Belle in danger. I guess he has finally stopped what he has been trying to do for years."

Damon walked out to see Stefan talking to the one woman he has been looking for. He walked over to her and kissed her. "Daddy!"

Stefan smiled at Mara-Belle as she was happy to see Damon. Damon pulled away and took Mara-Belle into his arms. "Hello, daddy's little girl, was you good for mommy?"

"Yes!" She says.

"She's been playing, but hasn't taken a nap. She is very hyped today." She tells him. "Thought we could stop by for a few before the storm hits....what the hell happened in here?"

Damon and Stefan saw the broken glass. "We had visitors because I refused Pearl's deal." He tells her. "They want their town back and Pearl is wanting peace, but I know better than that."

"I have a very bad feeling that something happens."

Damon pulled her into his arms. Stefan decided to let them be. "I'm going hunting."

"Don't kill anything that isn't in season!" Clara called out causing Stefan to laugh.

"Whatever, Clara."

Damon laughed as he left causing Clara to shake her head. "Well, I'm going to clean this glass up before you put Mara-Belle down." She tells him. "Can't have her getting cute."

"Agree."

A few hours later and Clara and Damon became worried for Stefan causing Clara to take Mara-Belle home as Damon went to Pearl to see if one of her vampires took his brother. "Elena!" Clara called out as she walked through the door. "I need to speak to you."

Appearing at the top of the stairs, Elena looked at her sister. "Yes?"

"Is Stefan here?" She asked as she carried Mara-Belle to her room to sleep as she was finally asleep.

"No. I haven't heard from him all day. Why? Did something happen?"

Clara laid her daughter in her bed and looked at her. "Elena, I think Stefan is missing. Damon believes he knows who has him and I'm going to help. I know I'm still upset with you, but Jenna is doing some errands. Will you watch Mara-Belle?"

"Of course, just bring him back safely." She tells her.

Clara nodded. "I will."

"Why are you here?" Damon asked for the sixteenth time. "I don't want you getting hurt or Mara-Belle to lose her mother."

"You're forgetting who I am, Damon. I can fight them faster than you think and you won't let them hurt me. You will kill them before they try to lay a hand on me." She tells him. "Let me help you, Damon." Placing her hand on his cheek she had one thing to say to him. "We are a team now, it's you and me. We can do this and protect Alaric. Okay?"

Alaric looked at them as Damon pulled the oldest Gilbert into a kiss. He shook his head at them as he knew that they loved each other, but was trying to not to confess just yet. "Okay, lovebirds, you two have plenty of time to have sex, we have a certain Salvatore to save."

They pulled away then looked back at one another before sharing one more kiss. "You go to the basement and if you find him, call me."

"I will."

Damon watched her make her way to the basement causing him to look at Alaric. "Let's find my brother."

"When are you going to tell her how you feel?"

Damon knew when he was going to tell her soon. Right now, he needed to find his brother before the love of his life gets hurt.

Clara hid as she waited for the vampires to leave the room that held Stefan and another one who was trying to protect him. That means she has two vampires to save. One Stefan and two the other one. Pulling her phone out, she went to call just for her phone to be jerked out of her hand. "What is a beauty like you down here?"

"You have my sister's boyfriend and I came here to get him back." She says. "Now, move or die. I like the second one better."

"You bitch..." he says.

Clara staked him in front of Damon who just appeared to check on her. "No one calls me a bitch."

"Damn, I never met a bad ass who turns me on like you." He says causing her to look at him.

"Damon, focus, honey. We need to get your brother and set the other one free and get home. He will need to feed."

Damon walked into the room that had his brother and another vampire. Clara walked in behind him as he had Stefan and the other on free. "Be the guard, baby."

"Let's go."

Damon ran out of the basement as Clara walked out to see Fredrick. She picked up her bag and pulled out a bow she always packed in it. She put an arrow on it and aimed it at the Fredrick. "Hey!" She called out as Damon looked at Clara. "Good riddance."

Fredrick looked at Clara and went after her before she let the string go and the arrow went straight into his heart. She watched as he turned gray causing her to smile. He was dead.

Running over to Stefan, Clara watched as Damon gave him a blood bag. She looked at him as she had a very bad feeling. "Why do I have a feeling that something is going to happen?"

Damon looked at her. "Because he can't control himself and this is the only way to kept him alive. I will need your help."

"Let's get him home and get Mara-Belle."

Alaric got in the backseat with Stefan as Clara and Damon got in the front. He knew that the two were close to confessing and sleeping together, but he hopes it's soon because he is not going to be around them and their sexual tension they have going on. How can I get them to finally confess and give in?
